Rediff.com bags Best Indian Website award

Rediff.com has walked away with the award for the Best Indian Website at the "PC
World Reader's Choice" awards for the third time in a row. The final selection for the
awards was based on a readers' poll, conducted by the magazine for over three
months.
Started in 1996, Rediff.com, currently records 33-million web page views per
month, and provides a free e-mail service, RediffMail.
Cisco-IBM Global alliance
An agreement between Cisco Systems Inc, a leader in networking for the Internet
and IBM, to form a global alliance has been approved by the US Department of
Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Cisco has its offices in Bangalore and
other major cities in India.
The global alliance will enable the two companies jointly meet the needs of business
customers as they adopt Internet-based technology. While Cisco will acquire the
router and switching patents of IBM, the latter will sell and service Cisco products
worldwide.
International Rectifier enters India
International Rectifier Corporation of US, the world's oldest semi-conductor
company, has established a wholly owned subsidiary, IR Infotech Pvt. Ltd.
