'Rediff' ahead of 'Yahoo' in Mumbai: IDC

Rediff is the most frequently visited website in Mumbai city, the country's largest
Internet market, ahead of both International as well as Indian websites.
About 22 percent of the Internet households in Mumbai mentioned Rediff as the
most frequently visited website. followed by Yahoo with 15 percent, Both Hotmail
and MTV were in the third position, indicated by 12 percent, followed by ESPN
with five percent.
Apart from Mumbai, Rediff is maintaining its first position in Hyderabad also with 16
percent of Internet households indicating it as the most frequently visited website,
against 6 percent for Hotmail and 3 percent for Yahoo.
In national level, though Yahoo emerged as the 'most frequently visited website'.
Rediff is the only Indian portal that figured amongst the top five 'most frequently
visited website' across all Internet households in India.
These results are part of a survey carried out by IDC India recently. Titled
'Understanding Internet Usage Behavior-Present and Future.'
