Best pics 2010: The solitary hunter
Here are readers' best photographs from the past year!
With 2010 drawing to a close, we invited readers to share their unique, original photographs from this past year with us -- here's the next set of responses!
First up we have this entry from Tamal Kishore Acharya of New Delhi, which he says was taken at the river Kabini, when on boat safari at the Nagerhole National Park in Karnataka.
"The photograph was taken from a boat which stood in the middle of the river, so that tourists could closely view the birds and fauna around. We got to see an Osprey (fish eagle) on the branches of a dead tree in the middle of the river, with a freshly killed fish. This was one of the best shots of my trip. In a matter of seconds the eagle flew out of our sight with its prey as our boat neared it."

Next we have this one from Debashree Banerjee who says, "This picture was taken in the Madurai Meenakshi Temple during my visit in December 2010. The light filtering in gave the space a mystical and divine quality. We were only too happy to pose."
