Photographs: Sarbajyoti Nasker
Here are readers' best photographs from the past year!
With 2010 drawing to a close, we invited readers to share their unique, original photographs from this past year with us -- here's the next set of responses!
First up we have this image from Sarbajyoti Nasker, who says, "This was clicked by me during my visit to Sikkim in October. I had driven all the way from Kolkata to Sikkim and captured various scenes of nature with my camera. This one is of a couple of today going their separate ways -- no room for compromise."

Childhood memories
Image: Childhood memoriesPhotographs: Akshay Omkumar
Here we have an entry from Akshay Omkumar, who explains, "This pic was taken by me when I was strolling along Alleppey Beach on Onam day, which is pretty auspicious for Kerala. As tradition goes, on Onam everyone gets new clothes, but for those who live in the city getting that's a routine event."
"As a child, one does not need much to be happy -- a new dress, new toys, things like that. In this picture are children of fishermen ,all wearing new clothes having a fun evening on the beach. They might not have a camera, but at the end of the day, getting new clothes and posing for a cam is like icing on the cake for them!"
