Best pics 2010: Day's first catch

Here are readers' best photographs from the past year!

We invited readers to share their unique, original photographs from this past year with us -- here's the next set of responses!

First up we have this entry from Ankur Somani who shot this picture at Pashan lake in Pune. He writes: "I was there to get some sunrise photos when I saw this man fishing. He got this catfish and I asked him to pose for me."

With 2010 having drawn to a close, we're inviting you to send in your best photograph of last year. We'll be posting a few every day and readers will get to vote for each one. The 20 that land the maximum number of votes will then be compiled into a 'best of' list that will be published at the end of this month.

Foggy morning

Arup Dey says, "I took this photo at Hazarduari (Murshidabad, West Bengal) when I was holidaying there in December last year.

Mesmerising sunset

Shubhankar Hiran writes: "I clicked this while I was in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. It had just rained at one end and sun was setting at the other. I was able to capture the darkness and sunlight with the streak by keeping a low exposure value."

Mystic boy

Indrajit Lahiri shares this stunning picture. He writes, "We saw this unusual sight of a boy coming out from nowhere in Kharibari, West bengal. Taken on a foggy morning, it gives a mystic sense."

Baby rhino

Kalyan Swaroop shot this picture shot at Kaziranga Natural Reserve in the early hours of the morning of a rhino and its younger one.
