We start out with this photograph of Gurudongmar Lake in North Sikkim taken by Soumik Biswas "The lake happens to be the second highest lake in India at an altitude of 5183 mts and is believed to be one of the sources of River Teesta," he writes.

And this is the River Teesta shot by Raju Bhowmick. Teesta is said to be the lifeline of Sikkim and flows through almost the entire length of the state forming the border between Sikkim and West Bengal. Eventually it joins the Brahmaputra -- India's only river with a masculine name -- as a tributary.

Sandeep Ogale sent in this photograph of the beach at Guhagar in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district. Guhagar is best known for its coir items and of course the world famous Alphonso mangoes.

Another one by Ogale of the beach at Karde in Maharashtra, known to be one of the cleanest of the beaches in the state! Karde is also known to be a dolphin-watching spot and is a safe haven for amateur swimmers wanting to venture into the waters.

Finally we have this photograph of Thekkady shot yet again by Rajib Bandyopadhyay. Best known for the the Periyar National Park spread over an area of about 777 sq km and boasting of exotic wildlife including the endangered tigers, Thekkady is one of the most scenic places in Kerala and an absolute must-visit.
