Unusual summer pics: Even the Sphinx needs shades!

First up we have this amusing image from Reen Tejender-Singh, who says, "This picture was taken in Egypt, where the day was really hot so I tried to get the Sphinx to wear a pair of shades!"

Next we have this image from Manish Juneja of Gurgaon, who explains, "We recently visited Nainital, and went to the zoo. We saw this dude -- the Siberian tiger -- resting in his cave away from the hot sun."

Couple capers

"This couple was relaxing under the shade of a tree on the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata," says Nasim. "The new leaves have sprung, giving it a different hue from the other trees."
