We invited you to send in unique summer-themed photographs -- odd scenes that are captured on a lens for posterity -- to share with other readers. Here is the first set of responses!
First up is this pic from Paulrajan E. "This deer is drinking water from an old paint bucket," he informs us. "Someone was kind enough to leave some water out for the deer that populate Anna University campus in Chennai."
Share your interesting summer snapshots with us! They could be from anywhere across India or the world, but they have to be original.
Simply e-mail your photographs to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Unusual summer pics') -- we'll publish the most interesting ones right here. And make sure to include a little-write up of where you clicked the snap.
Remember, the theme is summer, so your photograph has to gel with the season. Hurry and send in your entry today!

Vinney Divakaran sent in this snapshot from Kadvera Hill near Chikabellapur, which is very close to Bangalore. "Seeing the whole town get drenched without a single drop of rain touching you is just priceless!" he says.
We got this one of a kitten lying in wait for water from Subie Issac in Delhi. "She was on our water motor in the evening hours, when the water starts running from the tap adjacent to it. This time, though, her wait was never over due to the scarcity of water supply," she states.
We received these photographs from Deepti Gaharwar, of her cousins enjoying the summer swimming -- can't tell whether the poor fellow who was jumped on had much fun, though!
And finally, here is another of several interesting monkey pics we received, from Prasun Sanyal in Delhi.
He explains, "I took this photograph at Delhi Zoo. When I was busy taking photographs of the birds, I saw a group of young girls eating ice cream. There were many monkeys around and suddenly one of them attacked one of the girls. The girl got frightened and her ice cream fell to the ground. The monkey picked it up and started to eat it! The moment was very funny!"
