Can YOU put an end to this shame? Can WE together do it? No, for an answer is our collective SHAME!
The obvious answers would be: What can I do? What can ONE person do to fight/stop child labour?
To begin with:
If this doesn't convince you about the crying need to stop child labour then read Chinnu's (name changed) story: In his own photographs and captions...
'This is my workplace, the vegetable market...' is how Chinnu captioned this photograph.
NOTE:
Photos clicked by Chinnu, one of the children from CRY's Public Action Group (PAG) areas in Bangalore, who participated in the Photo Workshops conducted by CRY volunteers.
This year's Click Rights campaign focused on Child Labour and the attempt was to get the children to chronicle their own story and involve them in their campaign against Child Labour.
More than 200 million children worldwide are still in child labour and a staggering 115 million at least, are subject to its worst forms. In India, according to NSS0 66th Round (2009-10), there are 49.84 lakh (that is 16,000 less than 5 million) child labourers.
The CRY Click Rights campaign 'Open Your Eyes' invites you to overcome indifference to this grim reality and join CRY to help put an end to it.
