Rajul Hegde talked to some of the top television celebrities about their Raksha Bandhan memories and plans.
Raksha Bandhan always holds fond memories for many of us. Television stars are no different. Prominent television actresses and actors told Rajul Hegde about their lasting memories of the day.

I would save money to buy the fanciest of rakhis for my brother. Once the ceremony of tying rakhi got over my brother gave me some money on the sly to buy some more rakhis as he wanted to show off to everyone by filling both his hands with all those rakhis!
That was super funny as then the entire day I kept blackmailing him by saying that I'd tell everyone of his little secret -- that I was the only one to have tied him all the rakhis and that he actually didn't have as many sisters!

I share a very friendly relationship with my sister Aanchal who is five years younger to me. I always look forward for Raksha Bandhan every year.
The best rakhi memory I have is of last year when we were not on talking terms.
When I woke up on the morning of the day of Rakhi, I saw that Aanchal had placed a huge picture of me and her framed on my bed.
After seeing that picture all my anger just went away. This year I am planning to buy a good gift for her, also planning to take a day off and spend a day with her.

My brother stays in London so I don't get to celebrate the day with him a lot. Seven years ago he was visiting me after I delivered my first daughter. Incidentally it was around the time of Raksha Bandhan. That day I tied him a rakhi after over ten years. It was very special for me.

I have always bullied my younger brother and I'll continue to do that until we're both really old! There was this one time when we were both very young and I was standing on the edge of a cliff. It was not at a great height thankfully... just about 12 feet or so ... my brother playfully kicked me off the cliff and I ended up hurting myself badly.
He kept crying until I got better because he felt really guilty.
Strangely after this, we bonded after this incident and grew closer. Since then, he always has my back whenever my parents and I have a fight. He lives in Delhi now but since I can't take a break from work, he's travelling down to Mumbai for Raksha Bandhan.

Whenever I think of my sister I remember a particular incident that happened during one of my school examinations.
Unlike me, she has always been a bright kid at school so she used to help me study back then.
On the evening before one of the papers, while she was helping me revise my answers, she asked me a question to which I had no answer... as usual! Before I knew it, she had slapped me across my face! The next thing I knew, SHE started crying! Then she hugged me and we were fine.

Raksha Bandhan is one occasion I celebrate with lot of enthusiasm every year. I consider this day to be very special and lucky for me as my younger brother, Harshvardhan was born on the date closer to rakhi.
I remember celebrating rakhi with my elder sister Chayanika, brother as well as our cousins. This year will be no different as I will be going to my hometown Jaipur to celebrate his birthday and raksha bandan with my entire family.

My most memorable Raksha Bandhan was of the year I had just shifted to Mumbai. My brother was 8 years old then and was still in Bangalore. He wanted a 'Spiderman Rakhi' with lights on it so I searched all over Lokhandwala for one.
I took a flight all by myself and went to Bangalore, my hometown without telling my parents to surprise my brother.
That was the first time I travelled without telling my parents and it was a big thing. My bother loved the rakhi so much that he still preserves it as one of his prized possessions.

Unfortunately, I don't have a sister. For the longest time, I would get upset around Raksha Bandhan, but then my maternal uncle's daughter was born and now she ties me Rakhi every year.
She is about 10 years younger to me, but she is very protective about me and ends up behaving like my mother many times.
This year, she plans to travel to Mumbai especially to tie me a Rakhi.

Being away from home has made Raksha Bandhan a very special occasion in my life. I have two younger siblings -- a brother and a sister.
My brother is five years younger to me and he is the centre of attention at home.
Being the eldest, I have always pampered him and today he calls me for every small thing that he needs; but I am not complaining because it means I get all the attention!
Since I am working this year on Raksha Bandhan, I won't be able to travel back home but I am trying to get him down to Mumbai, even if only for a day. I hope I can.
