2002:
Around valentines' day Boy sends some balloons, chocolates and a greeting card to girl. All is done anonymously with the help of the girl's juniors (Varunika & Pallavi).
They promise not to reveal his identity. Not that the Boy feared anything, but just for fun and moreover it was college life.
May 2003
Boy meets Girl's close friend Nirupama on train. After some casual chat, Boy confesses.
Around the same time Varu and Pallavi also reveal the secret to Girl. Boy wants to meet the Girl
They finally meet for 5-10 minutes on the very last day of Girl's college life. Girl gets a bit intimidated by 'Dabang' style of Boy.
August 2003 to May 2004
Fortunately the Girl returns to college for a Master's degree. Boy is in his final year.
Since most of Girl's busy with their life, Girl starts spending more time with Boy. But Boy being Boy doesn't care much about his job and studies in the final year. So apart from college extra-curricular activities, friends and football all the time was devoted to the Girl.
2004
Once under the star filled night, sitting on the far end of a train platform at Haldi Station. Boy asked Girl. Will you marry me?
Girl replies: "Since I have to marry someone anyway, I may marry you."
Girl doesn't take Boy seriously. And Boy never worries about this.
2004 to 2006
Boy takes up a job in an IT firm. Girl goes for MBA leaving Master's degree incomplete.
Long distance calls start. When boy started raising wedding-related questions, thing turn sour. Fights start. Girl says she couldn't think of getting married to the Boy who was more of a friend to her.
They stop talking. Then start again. And stop and start many times over.
Several factors push things in the Boy's favour.
Boy switches jobs to come close to the Girl. Girl's first few meeting with prospective grooms suggested by family are disasters.
A few friends counsel Girl. The Girl suggests to her family to consider the Boy.
2006 to 2007
Long and painful struggle with family starts the usual Inter-caste marriage problems.
Girl also gets job in same city. Thanks to support of friends -- Dungi, Himani, Preeti, Rashi, Deepika, Vaibhav and Boy's patience, things finally turn sweet.
After years of rollercoaster ride both families agree (not peacefully though) for the wedding.
January 18, 2008
Lots of friends and well-wishers come to witness the big day. The four days of wedding are so full of fun that for many the wedding became one of the most entertaining weddings of their lives. Alcohol or no alcohol people danced for days and were sweaty even in the chilling winters of Dehradun.

After bidai at 3am when we set out to return home, we face the foggiest night ever. We even miss the cut for home and lose our way.
It is scary for a bit but once we reach home safely, the excitement for reception starts building.
