We invited readers to share stories of how they met their spouses and interesting anecdotes about their wedding day. Here's Shraddha Kabra's account of how she wooed her husband, Ajay

In 1999 I came to Pune for my further studies after my twelfth grade and joined a Chartered Accountancy (CA) Academy.

Every year, the academy would arrange for a fresher party for new students on Friendship Day.

It was my first Friendship Day in Pune. I still remember the day -- August 1, 1999.

Somebody introduced me to Ajay and my heart skipped a beat. Slowly we became very good friends but I never told him about my feelings.

As time passed, it was getting very difficult for me to hide my feelings for him so I finally told him.

My nightmare came true. He turned me down and tried to make me understand that we should study and should not waste our time in these things.

Things were never really the same but I never missed any chance to show him how much I loved him but in vain.

Meanwhile we continued with our lives. After completing CA, all our friends either went back to their home or joined somewhere other.

He also cleared his CA and joined a reputed company in Pune. I was yet to complete my studies.

Suddenly in 2005, He started again calling me and we started spending time together again.

I thought he was hanging out with me since all our friends had gone back to their hometowns and I was the only one left back.

But god had other plans.

We were enjoying each others company and I was beginning to respect his feelings. Even though he seemed to constantly drop hints, I ignored all of them on the fear of loosing a good friend.

Meanwhile, he had begun doing well in his career and had bought a new apartment.

On February 16, 2005 he called me out for a cup of coffee at 11 in the night saying he owed me treat for his new house.

I was surprised because it was very unlike him and though it was quite late in the day I didn't want to turn him down.

He asked me to go to the counter and order something for both of us.

When I came back to the table, I found a book with five roses and a handwritten note: "Each rose is for each year which I spent with you in last five years."

When I looked at his face with surprise, he uttered those three wonderful words I was dying to hear: "I love you!"

I couldn't believe myself and broke down!

We got married in 2006 and even today, there are times when Ajay teases me with all the stupid things I did for him during collage.

I was a Science student and always wanted to go for IAS after HSC but I don't know why I opted for CA Course. Perhaps God wanted our paths to cross.
