Children's Day: Chandigarh boy doodles for Google

Search engine giant Google made November 14 more special for children by displaying a doodle made by a teenager from India.
On the occasion of Children's Day, today, the Google homepage has a doodle titled 'A Prism of Multiplicity'.
The award winning doodle is designed by Arun Kumar Yadav, a class 9 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya from Chandigarh.
'A Prism of Multiplicity' has a soccer player, a kathakali dancer, gold jewellery, a peacock, a farmer and flowers that replicate the 'Unity in Diversity' theme.
Arun's artwork was selected amongst 13 finalists who had qualified for the annual Doodle 4 Google competition themed 'Unity in Diversity'.
Over two lakh students from more than 1000 schools across 60 cities in India participated in the competition where Arun emerged as the winner.
The competition was judged by a two-member jury that comprised cartoonist Ajit Ninan and actor Boman Irani.
The Doodle 4Google competition was instituted four years ago to encourage children to take up creative work.

Children's Day also celebrates the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister who was born on November 14, 1889.
Participants were grouped into three different categories where Group 1 comprised students from classes 1 to 3, Group 2 of students from classes 4 to 6 and Group 3 with students from classes 7 to 10.
Arun Kumar was adjudged the winner from Group 3.
