Most admired Dads: SRK beats Tendulkar, Big B

Ahead of Father's Day on Sunday, June 15, a poll conducted by Shaadi.com has voted Shah Rukh Khan as the country's most admired father. Read on for details

Till now, we only knew Shah Rukh Khan as the king of hearts.

But according to a new survey conducted by leading matrimony website Shaadi.com, actor Shah Rukh Khan has emerged as the country’s 'most popular father' as well.

42.5 per cent of the women surveyed voted for Shah Rukh Khan as 'India's Most Popular Father'.

Shah Rukh Khan has three kids -- daughter Suhana and son Aryan and AbRam.

Meanwhile, when women respondents were asked to vote for the most admired fathers from other nationalities, they chose US president Barack Obama.

The online survey was conducted ahead of Father's Day this year to find out the most popular fathers in India and around the world.

More than 5,500 respondents participated in the survey, where they were asked to vote for 'India's Most Popular Father'; 'Most Admired Dad'; 'India's Most Admired Father-Daughter Relationship' and ‘Most Admired Father-Son Relationship’

Shah Rukh Khan was followed by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who got 36.9 per cent votes and emerged as the second most popular father in the country.

Tendulkar has a 16-year old daughter Sara and 14-year-old son Arjun.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan received 20.6 per cent votes and stood third in the list of popular Indian fathers.

The actor, who is married to actor turned politician Jaya Bhaduri, has two children -- Abhishek and Shweta.

As part of the online survey, women were also asked to vote for the 'Most Admired Dad' from other nationalities.

40.3 per cent respondents chose president Barack Obama.

Obama, who's married to Michelle, a lawyer, has two children -- Malia and Natasha (also known as Sasha) aged 15 and 13 respectively.

The US president is followed by musician-actor Will Smith who received 31.4 per cent votes to emerge as second most admired Dad.

Smith has three children -- two sons and one daughter.

Eldest son Willard Carroll (fondly known as 'Trey') is from his first marriage to Sheree Zampino, while son Jaden and Willow are from his marriage to actor Jaden Koren Pinkett.

Football icon David Beckham stood third in the list of 'most admired dads' with 15.2 per cent votes.

Beckham is married to former Spice Girl Victoria and the couple have four children -- Brooklyn (aged 15), Romeo (11), Cruz (eight), and two-year-old daughter Harper.

Beckham faced tough competition from tennis champion Roger Federer who got 13.1 per cent votes.

43.2 per cent of them voted for the affection that Shah Rukh shared with his 14-year-old daughter Suhana.

33.4 per cent Indian women voted for actors Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor as the most admired father-son pair.

The Kapoors were followed by the Bachhans -- Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan -- who came a close second with 31.2 per cent votes.

The Gavaskars were not far behind.

Sunil Gavaskar and Rohan Gavaskar earned 12.1 percent in the 'Most Admired Father-Son Relationship' category.

Speaking about the survey results, Gourav Rakshit, chief operations officer, Shaadi.com, said in a statement: "The survey highlights that people adore and idolise celebrities who spend quality time with family despite their celebrity status."
