We recently hosted a live exhibition of Subi Samuel's works where he posted some of his finest photographs on Rediff ZaraBol. Today we showcase the pictures he's shot along with what he had to say about them. Keep clicking!
First up is this stunning picture of Sushmita Sen, who was one of Subi's earliest muses. He writes: "This was shot with Sushmita about a year ago, at my studio. I love the way the light falls on her add to that, her international experience, her enthusiasm level at a photo shoot... all factors that any photographer would love... She is someone who knows exactly what works in terms of fashion (and has a great aura about her). And that lil head piece adds so much to the picture, doesn't it?
Subi writes: "Rowdy Rathore, Joker or plain simple, Akshay Kumar? Akshay is an early riser; he prefers to shoot very early... like at 6 am! So, while the industry is still dragging itself back on its feet, he's done with his shoot! He is a perfectionist and won't settle for less at all!"
Kajol, Subi says, is 'definitely one of the most real people you will meet in the industry.
"She has fabulous personality, is well-read and well-spoken!" he adds
Like the select few photographers who've shot Amitabh Bachchan, Subi Samuel considers himself privileged. He shared with us this image he's shot of the superstar!
Subi shares this iconic picture of John Abraham shot a little over half a decade ago at versova beach... at 7 am! The picture is one of the more recognisable ones of John who had just begun to climb the ladder of success.
He tells us about the picture: "We went to the beachm dug a small trench and asked John to kneel. He is quite a sport that way."
Of this picture, Subi writes: "We were discussing shooting some experimental pictures and we ended up investing one evening into this shoot. The photograph works because I think the chemistry between Leander and me has always been great and when the model and the photographer are comfortable the magic is amazing altogehter. As much as been made of him, he is a real treat to work with!
