Photographs: Meghna Nitul
Readers share memorable pictures of their dads. Share yours too!
With Father's Day coming up on June 19, we invited readers to send in special 'Daddy and Me' pics. Here's the next set of responses!
First up we have this pic from Meghna Nitul who says:
This entry is on behalf of my two and a half-year-old daughter Anandini for her father Nitul, as a special gift for him on the occasion of Fathers' Day.
In the picture, both are seen enjoying themselves during their common birthday celebration last December (their birthdays are only a week apart). Nitul dotes on Anandini and for Anandini, he is her best buddy, playmate, teacher, superhero, all rolled into one!
Anandini and Nitul are planning a cruise along the river Moskva on the 19th to celebrate the special day together.
For Father's Day, we're inviting our readers to send in 'Daddy and me' pics -- memorable moments captured on camera. What better way to show your dad you care than re-living your memories?
Simply write in to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Daddy and Me') with the photograph attached and the little story behind your contribution. We'll be posting the best entries right here on rediff.com all through the week!

'My Daddy Strongest!'
Image: Monil Pipaliya with father AjayPhotographs: Ajay Pipaliya
This is from Monil Pipaliya of Bharuch, Gujarat to his dad Ajay:
Every child expects big gifts from his daddy. Every father expects his son to fulfill the dreams he could not complete. There are times when it seems I need him most, when he seems like the only person who can stop my tears, mend my broken heart, make things better and tell me everything will be alright.
Double the love!

'From a son to his father'
Image: Shreyansh and his father SandeepPhotographs: Deepti Jain
Says Deepti Jain of Bangalore:
This is a photograph of my son and his father. For my son Shreyansh (Anshu) his father Sandeep means the world to him, although he is only two-and-a-half years old
He shares an amazing bond with him , for him the day starts with his Papa and ends with his Papa. I know sometime in the future, when my son grows up, he will say or think these lines about his father:
A Father Like You
I just want you to know
You mean the world to me
Only a heart as dear as yours
Would give so unselfishly.
The many things you've done,
All the times that you were there,
Helps me know deep down inside
How much you really care.
Even though I might not say it,
I appreciate all you do
So richly blessed is how I feel
For having a father just like you.
'Extreme, unforgettable love'
Image: Rajiv Kumar with his parentsPhotographs: Rajiv Kumar
Rajiv Kumar also sent in a poem for his father Shri Shital Prasad:
When I came to the world,
Nobody was there to take care of me,
When I opened my eyes,
I found myself in kind hands
Yes, my Papa and Mummy
They were there to fulfill my any desire
Be it small or big
This is extreme unforgettable love
Only Papa and Mummy can give
I am proud to be a part of their life
This is the hearty wish of a son
My Papa and Mummy live a long life.
'When I went to Kolkata for my studies, he cried'
Image: Ria Khan with her fatherPhotographs: Ria Khan
And finally, here is a dedication from Ria Khan to her dad:
I love my dad so much, he is very supportive of me, he always advises me that whatever you do, just give your hundred percent to it.
My earliest memories are of the times when I would wait for him to come back from work every evening. As soon as I would see him, I'd go to the gate and ask, "Aaj kya laye ho?" Come rain or sunshine I loved those short jokes together. When I went to Kolkata for my studies, he cried like I was going to my in-laws' -- I can't forget that day. From those days when I would wait for him to come home, to just a few years ago when he was waiting for me at home, the joy of seeing him has never abated. Older and wiser, my papa has always been there for me.
