Photographs: Kartheek Pathuri
Readers share memorable pictures taken alongside their siblings. Share yours too!
We invited readers to share special brother-sister pics with us for Raksha Bandhan -- here's the next set of responses!
First up is this one from Kartheek Pathuri of Hyderabad who's now settled in New Brunswick. He says, "This photograph is with my sister Niharika (well, I call her Sweety). We grew up in a city called Nizwa, Oman in the Middle East and that was the best time of our lives."
With Raksha Bandhan coming up this Saturday, we invite you to share your special pictures of your sibling/s and you. And do provide a short write-up alongside, telling us the story behind the photograph and why it's special to you. Send in your entries to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Bhai-Behen Ka Rishta') and we'll publish the best entries right here on rediff.com!
Different occasion, same sentiment

Next we have this one from Ritam Jana, who explains, "This picture was taken on Bhai Phonta, a similiar festival to Rakhi, celebrated by Bengalis. In the picture, my sister Ricky is putting a tikka on my forehead."
To my loving sister

Vikas Sharma, 31, e-mailed in this next photograph, stating, "My 25-year-old sister Nidhi and I were part of a joint family with nine kids. Our relationship is unique in some ways. In our childhood, we were not too attached, maybe due to the joint family unit or the difference in our ages. In growing years, we become friends. We used to shop together and enjoy life. That was the time which strengthened our relation. Three years back, I moved out of India. Rakhi is a day when I miss Nidhi a lot. It is the third one when we will not be together. I just want to tell her that I love her a lot. Wherever we are, we are always together."
My boys!
