Magic in Maheshwari: Krishna Mehta's beautiful new collection

The veteran designer turned to the traditional Madhya Pradesh weave for her latest collection.

Krishna Mehta has worked with several Indian textiles -- those from Bhagalpur and Pochampalli and from Manipur to Varanasi.

For her most recent collection, the veteran designer sought inspiration from Maheshwari -- the traditional Madhya Pradesh weave.

Mehta's collection was a tribute to the traditional Indian weaves and it included everything from fluid pants and flared skirts to comfortable comfy tunics and swirling scarves.

Also featured in the collection was the six-yard sari to which the designer lent her distinct sensibility.

The colour palette ranged from the basic blacks and whites and moved to oranges, fuchsias, aquas, indigos and purples.
