When she isn't walking the ramps for top designers, Diva Dhawan is studying fashion merchandising from Fashion Institute of Technology from New York.
The young model who made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week during the last Spring Resort season gives us her take on the size zero business, what turns her on in a man and just how she dealt with a lecherous man in Mumbai recently.
The defining moment when you realised you were famous?
Well, I can't really say I am famous. So I don't think I have had that moment so far
Facebook or Twitter?
I am on Facebook. Twitter, I don't like so much because I don't have anything spectacular to say really.
Your idea of a perfect day?
Wake up, do yoga, have a healthy breakfast and doing things that are relaxing.
And your idea of a perfect date?
I don't think there is anything such as a perfect date. But I suppose it would involve good food and red wine and of course deserts
What men turn you off?
Men who letch at me! I realise that happens a lot in India. There's nothing that turns me off more than letching and staring and I find that happens a lot in India
Then of course there's bad breath and as materialistic as it might sound, a pair of bad shoes.
So what do you do when someone stares at you uncomfortably?
Well, most of my male friends tell me that I should take it as a compliment but I can't. The last time someone looked at me lecherously I came close to hitting the guy but I just ended up shouting at him.
The guy was really taken aback because I yelled 'What are you looking at?' and he was not expecting me to react. It was just outside Grand Hyatt (the venue for the Lakme Fashion Week)

Well actually I am studying fashion merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. It's a very hands-on course and I've been doing it for the last two years. I graduate in another year. But if I wouldn't have been a model, I'd probably be into public relations.

Do you cook?
Well, I am trying. I've made pasta and I've just learnt to make dal recently. I can't cook those really elaborate dishes though.
What is your favourite cuisine?
Well, basically that would involve anything with dark chocolate.

Erm I don't think I have one.
What's your favourite hangout?
My home . My bedroom actually!
What kind of music do you enjoy?
Anything that is soothing to my ears except country and hard rock
Which is your favourite movie of all time?
I don't have a favourite anything really. There's just so many movies I watch, it's hard to pick a favourite
The one makeup accessory you can't live without?
Lip Balm!
The first thing you do when you check into a hotel?
I check the bathroom!
Your memorable vacation?
That would have to be the one I took with my best friend to the Dominican Republic. It was one crazy vacation . And that's all I can say about it!
The one place that took you by surprise?
Actually there would be a tie between Dubai and Singapore because both these places are so clean it is shocking more than anything else.

Don't get lost in this world. Stay true to yourself.
What do you make of size zero business?
I don't make a lot of it really. Honestly I'd say you must be who you are. You cannot compare your body with someone else's. Respect your body, love it and work out to stay fit not to get to a particular size.
