Designer Atsu Sekhose, who is based in Delhi, was dubbed by Elle magazine as India's rising fashion star. He was also called promising by Vogue India.

Sekhose graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi, and was assisting couture master Tarun Tahiliani until he branched out on his own in 2007.

Rediff caught up over a quick chat with Sekhose, who talked about what he thought should be worn, not worn, and what fashion is all about.

What are the do's and don'ts for summer fashion?

Summer is all about rich and bright colours. There is a lot you can do with colours, because Indian women have beautiful skin. So the neon colour is definitely in. There are no don'ts.

Summer fashion trends and tips?

Summer is all about comfortable and easy clothes. There is no specific trend as such, but in summer, one should keep it light, flowy, and simple.

What should Indian men NOT wear?

Shorts.

How do you pick the right formal suit?

What we make a big mistake about is that we often pick up over-sized suits. We must pick up a suit that buttons up just perfectly.

Your advice to young, aspiring designers?

Keep your inspiration and creativity flowing, because fashion is not just about glamour, but about a lot of hard work.
