Check out Hero MotoCorp's hottest new bike all set to be launched in India

Hero MotoCorp, the new name that Hero Honda has decided to take on after its break up with Honda, is now planning to launch a dirt bike called Impulse.

Hero is hoping that Impulse will help them carve a niche in the market. It is expected to go on sale by the end of this year.

But what exactly is this bike, which Hero MotoCorp plans to launch? Let's get to know more about this machine.

Impulse is nothing but the Honda NXR150 Bros. The NXR150 is a very popular Honda motorcycle in Brazil and now Hero MotoCorp is all set to get it to India.

Impulse from Hero MotoCorp is a motorcycle, which is capable of cruising on the tarmac as well as off-road.

It has a huge gap between the mudguard and the tyre, helping it to be driven fast across bad roads without breaking anything. The headlight is very similar to the Splendor (no compliment this) while the rear features an under-seat exhaust.

Impulse will be powered by a 150cc single cylinder motor which develops power of 13.8 BHP and torque of 13.6 Nm.

Power delivery is courtesy Honda's PGM-FI system, which will ensure crisp throttle response and decent fuel efficiency.

Expect anything between 40-45 kmpl from this dirt bike. With a 12-litre tank, you can easily cruise around the mountains for at least 500 kms before you run of fuel.

Talking about fuel, the Brazilian version has a dual fuel option and can run on both petrol and ethanol. We won't be getting that here.

Impulse will also feature a decent instrument cluster.

For starters, there is the basic fuel gauge, tripmeter and odometer while the various indicators and light switches are present as well.

Just in case something goes wrong, there are warning lights too.

The suspension is a front telescopic unit with 180 mm of travel. And that is a lot -- it will easily ensure you have no issues on the roughest of roads.

The rear has mono-shock suspension with 150 mm of stroke.

Breaking duties are taken care of by a 240cc disc brake while the rear has to make do with 110 mm drums.

The high profile tyres aid in the dirt bikes characteristic of taking to rough roads like a pro.

In India, Impulse bike will sport saree guard, which is mandatory for all two wheelers according to ARAI.

With a weight of just 119 kgs, Impulse will appeal a lot to youngsters.

To be available in black, red and orange colours, Impulse will surely attract a lot of attention. But with it being priced at at least Rs 80,000, the question is would you buy one?
