Valentine's Day is around the corner and here's a quick workout so you can feel good and look irresistible on the big day.

A week of working out will certainly not get you into the kind of shape you want. 

But Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it is as good a time as any other to get started on some sort of a routine.

Fitness trainer Brinda Sapat is here to tell you just how you can do that:


BURN!

Get your skin glowing with a 30 minute brisk walk, jog, cycle or a cardio DVD. Try to do this 5-6 days a week and also watch the fat melt!

TONE!

Nothing looks as good as a well-toned body.

Even if you have an unwanted amount of fat on you, toned muscles speak volumes so get pumping!

Doing combination exercises works the upper and lower body together, cutting workout time in half and is more functional too! Do them alternate days of the week.

 days rest in between is essential to allow the muscles to rest and shape up!

You will need a pair of medium weight dumbbells of 2 heavy bottle of water that are easy to hold, a mat and your favourite up tempo music.

Tips and Tricks!

1. Work at your posture. Good alignment will make you look taller, slimmer and fitter!

It can literally seem to take inches off your waistline. Stand with your chin parallel to the floor. Your head should not push forward nor all the way back.

Pull your shoulders down and slightly backwards. Lift up your rib cage. You should look natural, not army like.

Put your lower back in neutral position; ie a normal curve should be maintained. Be conscious of your posture even when you sit.

2. Eat lots of salads and fruits.

3. Do your cardio routine a couple of hours before your date. This will make your complexion look radiant. The toning exercises will also give you a good last minute taut feeling.

4. Use baby oil to accentuate your newly acquired toned muscles.

5. Wear clothes that show off your best feature.

6. Smile and knock him dead!
