Lime: Squeeze half a lime in a glass of lukewarm water and add a teaspoon of honey. Take this first thing in the morning for several months.
This not only helps flush out toxins from the body but also acts as an excellent anti-allergic agent.
Mixed juice: Mix 300 ml of carrot juice with 100 ml of beetroot juice and 100 ml of cucumber juice.
Have this once a day. You can also have 500 ml of carrot juice without mixing.
Ginger: Add some chopped ginger pieces and a teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water. Mix well and drink. Bite into the pieces of ginger while drinking. This is an effective remedy to relieve you from allergies.
Green tea: Green tea has antihistamines in it. Drink at least 1 to 2 cups of green tea sweetened with honey every day.
Chamomile tea: Another effective remedy for allergies is chamomile tea as it is a natural antihistamine. Sweeten chamomile tea with honey and drink at least 1 or 2 cups of this daily.
Basil tea: Basil tea is a traditional Chinese remedy. To prepare this, put one ounce (around 28 gram) dried basil leaves (tulsi leaves) into one quart (around 950 ml) of boiling water. Let it cool to room temperature and use this as a rinse to the affected area. Basil contains high amounts of caffeic acid, an anti-allergic compound. Therefore, it is very effective against allergic symptoms such as hives, etc.
Fruit Juice Diet: When our body's immune system is weak, the body easily becomes the target of many ailments, including allergies. If immune system is strong, the likelihood of getting allergies reduces to a great extent. You need to detoxify your body from time to time. To achieve this, be on an exclusive fruit-juice diet for 4 to 5 days at a stretch.
Vitamin B5 or Pantothenic Acid: Certain nutrients have been found beneficial in the prevention and treatment of allergies. Those are present in vitamin B5 (panthothenic acid). Take about 100 mg of vitamin B5 daily for a month. Although the recovery takes several months, results definitely are seen.
Vitamin E: Take 400 mg of vitamin E supplements daily for 6 weeks. This is a good prevention as well as cure for allergic symptoms.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Drink a glass of water that has two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in it. This is a good natural remedy for allergies.
Castor Oil: Mix a teaspoon of castor oil with water and take it on an empty stomach in the morning. You can also have this along with fruit or vegetable juice. This improves skin texture and cleans up the nasal passages as well as the intestinal tract.
Baking Soda: Put one-half cup of baking soda into a warm bath. Soak in this bath for 20 to 30 minutes. This is a traditional New England folk remedy for soothing down red, itchy hives.
Poppy seeds: Grind one teaspoonful of poppy seeds along with one teaspoonful of water and one teaspoonful of lime juice. Apply this to the affected area to get relief from redness and itching.
Salt water mixture: Saline nasal irrigation is a good way for treating allergies. For this, put 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 to 1-1/2 cups of lukewarm water (do not use softened water). Mix well and pour it in a bulb syringe and irrigate your nose.
This rids the nasal passages of mucus, bacteria, dust, and slime, as well as soothes irritated passageways.
