Dressed in an elegant black sequined one-shoulder gown, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta was the showstopper for her friend and designer Surily Goel on the first day of Wills India Fashion Week in Delhi.
The 38-year-old actress and the designer had previously worked together in films like Salaam Namaste and Jaan-E-Mann.
Goel is also the official designer of Zinta's IPL team Kings XI Punjab.
"Surily is my favourite designer and I am not saying this because she is a friend. Surily has so much versatility and that is what is commendable about her.
"I love what I am wearing and I think her clothes compliment me. The last time I wore a saree designed by her at Jab Tak Hai Jaan's premiere and I received many compliments for it," Zinta said.
Asked about today's attire, the actress said, "I love wearing gowns and I love this one. It is both formal and informal. I can wear it at a red carpet event and also for a party. In fact I have asked Surily to let me wear it once to a party before selling it off."
Zinta, who was last seen on the big screen in 2008 film Heroes, was set to make a comeback last year with her maiden production venture Ishkq In Paris. But the film's release got delayed.
"My director got sick and that is why we had to postpone the release of the film. We are doing the post production of the film but we are yet to decide on a date for release. I am keeping my fingers crossed right now," she said.
Goel's autumn winter collection was titled the 'Spice Story', which has been inspired by the dark and deep jewel tones.
"My collection is the Spice story and I have taken inspiration from jewel tones. That is why you saw a lot of black, gold, green and red," she said.
