Here's a piece of the ramp action from the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week!
One of the country's biggest fashion dos of the year got off to a swinging start on Saturday, October 8.
The ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2012 edition has seen several designers' creations take to the runway in a flurry of colour and light, airy cuts. Take a look.
First up we have the leggy Rachel Bayros for Rina Dhaka, in a nude bodysuit with tasselled shoulder detailing.
Next we have Kalki Koechlin in this sexy metallic grey gown by the designer.
Actor Prateik showed off his buff chest in formals, leaving the buttons undone.
The two stars then donned a matching set of dyed his 'n' hers outfits for their final runway round at the Dhaka show.
Rajesh Pratap Singh fused traditional ikkat work with contemporary design to come up with spritely summerwear like this orange shirt dress.
It was a pleasant surprise to see Rahul Dev on the ramp once more, modelling a casual kurta-pajama set teamed with waistcoat and jacket.
Tinu Verghese made quite an entrance for Singh in this fuschia wrap-and-drape number.
Aneeth Arora's label Pero was infused with the hippie-chic vibe. Bright hues and prints clashed to create ditzy designs like this shirt-dress-beach tote combo.
Sanea Shaikh makes a retro statement in a tunic, shirt and pants worn underneath.
Arora then gave his kitschy colours a rest with this all-white casual boho ensemble.
Manoj Dubey used earthy tones of beige, muddy brown, copper, burgundy and maroon to capture the ethnic spirit with his new line. Seen here is Candice Pinto in a long print jacket and trousers.
With its colourful hem and Indian feel, this dress could easily be teamed with churidaar pants to put a whole new spin on it.
Jesse Randhawa modelled Dubey's showstopper, a sheen-tinted silk ghagara, shirt and waistcoat in warm tones.
Jyoti Sharma's 'Bhanuni' brought together elements from our surroundings to come up with structured and panelled garments like this partly sheer number.
Alesia Raut exudes nymph-like beauty in this pale panelled mini.
Next we have this becoming cross-over detail summer dress.
Sanea Shaikh struts her stuff once more, in a ruched-sleeve champagne and white outfit with side pockets by Sharma.
Shipra Gupta's latest collection showed a mix of cultures across boundaries. The garments had a very young feel to them, intending to create a look for the globe-hopping nomad.
We loved this ruffle-layered strapless dress -- very stripey and summery!
Supermodel Carol Gracias put in an appearance for Gupta, showing off her long pins in black shorts.
For their label Taurus, duo Dhruv and Pallavi chose to go with festivewear on a palette of blue, green and white.
The ensembles were ethnic and tasteful, with embroidery reined in to make the right impression.
In this pretty churidaar kurta modelled by Alesia Raut.
Jesse Randhawa twirled in the designer twosome's showstopper, a white almost bridal number with their chosen hues adorning the neckline.
Surbhi Chawla presented a range of peppy cocktail outfits in happy and chaotic patterns with oodles of drapes and smocking like this jumpsuit, with pink pleats colour-blocked on black.
This mini with smocking detail was sweet as candy.
Candice shows off her curves in figure-hugging pistachio.
Slit to the thigh, a colourful maxi makes its presence felt for Preeti S Kapoor, whose bold, loud prints emphasised necks and hemlines.
Warm tones and a simple, flowing silhouette characterise this striking dress.
And finally, we have these vivacious silk pants with a frilly green blouse from Kapoor.
