Kate Upton is fashion's new 'it' girl
Kate Upton, who was dismissed as a girl with "the kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy" by Victoria's Secret earlier this year, has landed herself a second Vogue shoot.
Hailed as 'The New Girl' by the fashion glossy, Upton, 20, was shot by top photographer Steven Meisel in a backless black one-piece with damp, tousled hair.
The rest of the seven-page spread sees her model classic sportswear in a crisp palette of red, black, white and blue.
But the model, who shot to fame at the start of this year after landing the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, has no plan to embrace the super-skinny high fashion look.
"I don't want to starve myself," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
"I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn't mean starving yourself," she said.
In fact, she plans to use her raised public profile to be an ambassador for a healthy approach to body image.
"I think it's important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable," she said.
"Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I'm happy if I can have an influence," she added.
Upton first appeared in Vogue in June, and many fans were surprised to see her heavily wrapped up in a long coat and over-knee boots.

Kim Kardashian, who seems to want to get something off her chest, took a day off from flaunting her curves to pay a little more attention to her massive cleavage in an effort to find a scary suit for Halloween.
The 31-year-old reality TV star tweeted a picture to her more than 16 million followers with the caption "Rawwwr!!! Halloween Costume shopping."
The socialite had faced a similar problem last year and asked for some fashion advice from her 'twitfam', the Mirror reported.
Kim had filed for divorce from Kris Humphries exactly one year prior on 31st October, after just 72 days of marriage.

Always one to love shocking the world, Rihanna did not let her fans down as well as she unveiled the cover art for her new album.
The singer posted the front cover for her seventh album Unapologetic ahead of it's scheduled release.
The front shows the 24-year-old topless with her arm covering her breasts and black and white writing scrawled over her body including the words 'faith', 'happy' and 'victory', the Daily Mail reported.
"Find the #ALBUMTITLE in #allBLACKeverything on the #COVER," she tweeted.
She had previously confirmed that she would reveal details of her new album, which will include current single Diamonds, in America.
"I'm officially hyped for my album cover! I might just leak it early," she tweeted.
She later tweeted: "The side effects of #R7 are starting to kick in, less than an hour!"

Naomie Harris has revealed that she is in the best shape of her life after weeks of strenuous training to play Eve in Skyfall.
The 36-year-old actress, who is best known for her role in 28 Days Later, admitted spending two months -- before filming started -- running and taking two-hour combat training and yoga sessions five times a week, which transformed her from an "unfit" star into a toned superwoman.
"It was hard work because I'm incredibly unfit. When we started I couldn't run around the block. Now I can do two-and-a-half K (kilometres) -- and that, for me, is amazing," Contactmusic quoted Harris as telling Wenn.
"I feel a lot more energised now," she said.
"I was three days a week at the gun range," she added.

British model Agyness Deyn has decided to call time on her modelling career and become a film star instead, as she has grown disenchanted with the fashion industry over time.
The 29-year-old former model has fronted campaigns for brands including Burberry, Doc Martens and Mulberry.
"I suppose I have stopped modelling officially. I've not done any for a good long while now," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling The New Review.
"I think it was about four years ago when my feeling were changing towards the industry."
"I didn't hate it, but I was yearning to do something different. I was on a gradient. I was something different," she said.
Deyn, who played the role of a stripper this year in the remake of Nicolas Winding Refn's 1996 cult classic Pusher, saw her preference switch from fashion to film with each new role that came her way.
Her acting career began in 2010 when she played Aphrodite in Clash of the Titans.
In 2011 she appeared as a warrior in Woodkid's debut music video.
Deyn, who is now settled in New York with hubby Giovanni Ribisi, 37, also said that she didn't regret spending 10 years of her life travelling the world for the sake of her modelling career, as it gave her the creative desire to try acting.

Kelly Brook has revealed that she finds the aging process "terrifying" because her career is mainly based on her looks, but insisted she takes care of her skin to stop the wrinkles.
The 33-year-old model confessed that she has started looking after her skin by splurging on expensive skincare ranges, as she is scared of getting wrinkles.
"It's pretty terrifying. But I guess the great thing about getting older is you can approach life in a confident way, as you're more experienced," Contactmusic quoted Brook as telling Look Magazine.
"Facials are important, I have a massage and cleanse every three weeks. I use Linda Meredith and Yonka skincare ranges. They're quite expensive, but I think it's important to invest in good quality products and ingredients," she said.
The beauty is not only looking after her skin, but is also taking care of her body and is sensible with what she is eating.
"I've been good over the last few weeks and worked out a lot. I've cut sugar out and feel better for it. I just have to have a little bit of what I fancy -- everything in moderation," she added.

Christina Hendricks has admitted that becoming a redhead was a career-changing move for her.
The 37-year-old actress, who was a blonde previously, confessed that it was during her modelling days that she was asked to change her hair colour for a shoot.
"The head of my agency was like, 'You look terrible'. In the meantime I had to audition," The Sun newspaper quotes the Mad Men star as telling Radio Times.
"I booked two or three jobs and was like, 'This is working, I am keeping this'," she said.

Keira Knightley, who is renowned for her slender frame that is much beloved by fashion designers, despises wearing the micro-skirts and skinny jeans that show off her incredible physique.
The 27-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star made the admission while talking about trends from the last decade she dislikes.
"I think skinny jeans and micro-miniskirts are very unfriendly," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling fashion magazine W.
"I've been known to wear both, but on some days it seems like they were invented to make you feel bad about yourself," she said.
The actress is the face of the 2000s in the special 40th anniversary issue of the influential style publication.
For her cover appearance she wore a Chanel braided tweed jacket, and luxurious white gold, ruby and diamond earrings.
Padma Lakshmi's colourful dress turns see-through at NYC exhibition

Padma Lakshmi ended up getting the wrong kind of attention when she attended an event in New York City in a colourful ensemble on Wednesday.
The 42-year-old ended up flashing her underwear at the Connecting The Dots book launch and exhibition opening when her dress, which consisted of orange, blue and red patches -- became transparent under the camera flashbulbs, the Daily Mail reported.
The author and TV presenter seemed unaware that her unsightly white bra could be seen in the harsh lighting, especially with the combination of the dress' clingy material.
It was unfortunate too that the straps of Lakshmi's lingerie didn't appear to be secured evenly, leaving her chest looking somewhat lopsided.
To make matters worse, she teamed the piece with a pair of white knee-high boots which stopped where her clothing hemline fell.
Christina Aguilera not scared of aging

Christina Aguilera has revealed that she loves getting old as she finds the aging process liberating.
The 31-year-old songstress, who recently lashed back at critics of her curvier figure, is comfortable in her own skin.
"Some people are afraid of change and (feel) that getting older is a bad thing, but I really love maturing and gaining wisdom," Contactmusic quoted Anguilera as telling People Magazine.
"And the experience of being pregnant and having a child and seeing what a woman's body can do is amazing," she said.
