Candice Swanepoel proves school bullies wrong in racy photoshoot
Candice Swanepoel has revealed that she was mocked at school for her small frame, but insists that modelling has been the perfect revenge for those bullies.
While posing in a range of beachwear and lingerie for GQ Magazine, the 23-year-old said she felt like an outsider growing up in South Africa, until she was discovered at a Durban flea market, aged 15, in 2003.
"A year before I got scouted, I would watch a lot of FashionTV. At school, I got teased because I was so thin and awkward-looking. But the girls on TV looked similar to me," the Daily Telegraph quoted her as telling the magazine.
"I would say to my mom, 'The girls at school are teasing me, but I look like those girls on TV'. A year later, someone took me to an agency and that's it."
"Revenge is always...I know it sounds terrible, but it does feel good to show those people."
"I put all my eggs in one basket when I left South Africa. I put my head down and worked my ass off. And look where it got me," she said.
The Victoria's Secret model, who has been dating Brazilian model Hermann Nicoli since she was 17, said that she takes a look at social networking sites to cheer her up whenever she feels down.
"Whenever you feel down, you can check on Twitter and feel better about yourself, because it's only people who like you," she said.
The blond beauty also said that she had developed lasting friendships with fellow Victoria's Secret models, who understood what she was going through.
"It's so nice. We live a very different life that not many other people can understand," she said.
In one shot for the magazine, Swanepoel can be seen showing off her incredibly long legs in just a pink thong, covering her chest with her arms.
In another, she dons just a white, full-piece swimsuit and an orange and black flower necklace.
The star graces the cover of the magazine, posing seductively with her finger in her mouth, wearing a red and black one-piece.
Kourtney Kardashian, who is expecting her second child with boyfriend Scott Disick, is seen sporting a bikini alongside sisters Kim and Khloe for the latest Kardashian Kollection advert.
In the photo, the trio showcase three different sexy bikini styles from their new swimwear collection for department store Sears.
Kim, 31, flaunts her famous curves in a two-piece with ruffle detail, Kourtney, 32, sports a staples bandeau top with embellished bikini bottoms and Khloe, 27, rocks a printed bikini beneath a sheer cover-up.
The line's co-creator, Bruno Schiavi, is over the moon about the designs coming to life.

Megan Fox, who is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Brian Austin Green, has said that she wouldn't trade places with an 'unattractive girl'.
The 25-year-old actress admits that she enjoys her good looks.
"I live well with my image. I cannot complain. I would not trade my place with an unattractive girl," Contactmusic quoted her as telling French magazine Jalouse.
However, the former Transformers star insists she isn't vain, and says she can't even bring herself to look at her own photo shoots.
"I hate taking pictures. I never look at them, otherwise I would have to change everything."
"I prefer not to see any and trust the photographer, who knows his job," she said.
Scarlett Johansson, who is lusted after by men all over the world, has said that she doesn't consider herself a sex symbol as she doesn't think she is a very attractive woman.
When quizzed by Empire Magazine on how she feels about being a "sexy icon", she said: "I don't know, I don't think of myself that way. It's alright for now. I'm convinced that obviously in a couple of years' time it will be somebody else. I won't be as interesting that way," Contactmusic reported.
The 27-year-old actress -- who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds -- doesn't think her sex symbol status has been cultivated by her films, because she doesn't consider many of the characters she has portrayed to be overtly sexual.
Rihanna has admitted that like most women, even she has insecurities about her body, but she has learned to embrace her figure, including its flaws.
Despite being widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful women, the 24-year-old-old singer admits she isn't completely happy with her body.
"I don't think anybody really is 100 per cent. I mean, you get comfortable with the fact that that's your body and that is what it is -- that I had to learn. (Some days) I'm like, 'Okay, whatever, I feel fat today,' but what can you really do about it? You have to just accept your body," Contactmusic quoted her as saying on UK TV show Daybreak.
"You may not love it all the way, but you just have to be comfortable with it, comfortable with knowing that that's your body."
"You just want something else that someone else has, but that doesn't mean what you have isn't beautiful, because people always want what you have, and you always want what they have -- no one is ever 100 per cent like, 'Yes, I'm the bomb dot com -- from head to toe!'" she said.
Lady Gaga, best known for her outrageous costumes and heavy makeup, has tweeted a barefaced photo of herself for her followers.
The singer, 25, posted a photo on her Twitter account which showed her without makeup, along with the message, "Have a beautiful day!!"
The snap was taken in a bathroom as she pouted into the mirror, showing off her fresh face. Gaga had tied her platinum locks away from her face and was wearing a white flower behind an ear, News.com.au reported.
She wore a green tank top that fell off one shoulder as she leaned forward to take the photograph on her Blackberry.
The pop star has been hard at work preparing for her upcoming Born This Way Ball Tour, which kicks off next month.
A few days earlier Gaga posted a photo to her Twitter page to show her followers her new earrings.
While she looked lovely in a blue dress and simple makeup, it seemed the strains of tour rehearsals were getting to the star and she appeared a little tired in the snap.
Gaga is currently dating actor and model Taylor Kinney, who she met while shooting her music video You And I last year.
According to recent reports by Hollywood Life, a source has claimed, "Taylor is shopping for a promise ring."
"They both have been in Chicago for the past week, staying at a swanky hotel downtown. Taylor is filming a movie called Chicago Fire."
"Today he went to an upscale jewellery store on Michigan Avenue asking about rings. He said something about a promise ring," the source added.

Armed with her new qualification, the supermodel and America's Next Top Model host now plans to launch a top-secret business venture in 2013.
But having just started dating a mystery man, who she is believed to have met while filming in China last year, Tyra says she also has a few goals to achieve outside of her career.
"I want to accomplish more of a personal life. Kids! All that! Super important!" she added.
Cheryl Cole has admitted that she finds the whole red carpet rigmarole 'terrifying'.
The 28-year-old admits that although the red carpet might look glamorous, in truth it's far from it.
"For the record, it's terrifying. We once had this nightmare where my dress ripped here, somebody was sewing here, my nail had just chipped so somebody was painting them," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Stylist Magazine.
'Then I walked out, tripped in the middle of the corridor, grabbed the security guy and tore all my nail polish off. I had burgundy nail polish all down my white dress. So I said, 'Wait until I figure out how I am going to manoeuvre this handbag so that my nails are covered.'"
"So that's how I walked down the carpet. It was absolute pandemonium. Anyone who says that they love red carpets is lying. Getting dressed up is the best part. And champagne after the event -- that's even better," she added.
Kendall Jenner followed in the footsteps of her famous Kardashian half-sisters to post a provocative picture of herself on Twitter.

A new range of bust-enhancing swimwear by a high street retailer promises to provide women with maximum cleavage control.
The Ultimate collection by Debenhams includes three sizes -- Natural, Mega and Extreme -- which can give the wearer anything from a "subtle upward lift" to a boost by two cup sizes.
"Despite the curvaceous Towie ladies bringing the boob-job-look back, women feel their assets should fit the social situation," the Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for Debenhams as saying.
"We wanted to give customers a menu of size options to choose from -- a cleavage for every occasion!"
"This range is a boob-job in a bikini with the option of inflating or deflating when necessary," the spokesperson said.
A survey conducted to mark the range found nine out of 10 women vary their swimwear choice based on who they are holidaying with -- family, friends or partners.
While nearly two-thirds wanted to naturally enhance their chests when with a partner, three-quarters said they opted for a larger-than-life look when alone to attract male attention.
The nautical coloured bikinis are priced from 16-22 pounds. Shoppers can choose from Natural for a subtle lift, Mega for a gel-filled bra to add a cup size, and Extreme, which uses foam padding to enhance boobs by two cup sizes.
Additionally, the new bikinis are making a splash already as sales reportedly increased by 375 per cent last week.
