'Dream comes true' for Schiffer with launch of 'mum-friendly' fashion line
Supermodel and supermom Claudia Schiffer has launched her new cashmere collection in Paris during Haute Couture fashion week with the hope that her brand will spice up the fashion taste of other mothers.
The 40-year-old former Chanel muse said at designer store Colette that she always wanted to get into fashion design and had finally decided to launch her own brand that will flaunt the kind of clothes she wears all the time as a working mother, such as cashmere dresses and sweaters.
"I am always very busy, I have a family life...I want to wear the same outfit when I bring my children to school, then go to work with it -- and in the evening I want to be able to just change accessories,' the Daily Mail quoted Schiffer as saying.
"Effortless chic. That is the idea," she said.
Schiffer's collection that she created in a joint venture with Iris von Arnim, includes long tube black and navy blue dresses, grey oversized cardigans and cable-knit sweaters costing from 250 to 500 pounds.
"I want the product to live without my name so that it does not really need me. As a company, I hope it builds up over time so that one day, hopefully, I can hand it over to my children," added Schiffer for whom the launch was a "dream come true".
Beyonce Knowles nearly bared her assets as she performed in her new single video, wearing see-through bridal underwear that left nothing to the imagination.
The singer gets "married" in her new single Best Thing I Never Had, which is about a former boyfriend who let her go, reports the Sun.
In the video, the R&B star rolls around on a bed in a sexy white corset and suspenders while singing about lost love.
In another scene, she giggles as her "groom" removes a garter with his teeth at their reception.
Best Thing I Never Had is the second single from the studio album 4 and was released last month.
It's not just Bey who's flaunting her bod this week. Rosie Huntington-Whitely has been pictured posing in a trench coat and nothing else for Burberry.
According to Fashionista, the Transformers star posed in the brand's iconic beige trench coat in her debut ads for the new fragrance Burberry Body, shot by Mario Testino.
"It's a huge honour to be working with Burberry again, a brand that put my career on the map and helped launch me," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.
"To be asked to be the first 'Burberry Body' is an amazing compliment," she added.
The scent will hit the market on September 1.
And in more bod-baring news, the latest celebrity daughter set to pose in the buff for Playboy Magazine is model Daisy Lowe.
Just two months after Mick Jagger's daughter Elizabeth posed naked for the men's publication, Bush star Gavin Rossdale's girl is getting ready for her Playboy debut, reports Contactmusic.
Lowe, whose mother Pearl is a British musician and socialite, will grace the pages of the September issue of the magazine.
Though she is eagerly awaiting her second child later this summer, Jessica Alba has admitted that motherhood has changed her body forever.
The 29-year-old actress, who's famous for her exotic beauty and bikini body, worked hard to get back into the shape she was in before giving birth to her daughter Honor.
Despite apparently regaining her enviable figure, Alba insists that she will never fully regain her pre-pregnancy figure.
"I can't ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the August issue of Allure.
"My body's just different. The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It's a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward. Unless you're Gisele (Bundchen)," she added.
The star, who is married to production assistant Cash Warren, however can't help but marvel at the miracle of pregnancy.
"I saw how incredible and amazing it is to be a woman and to be able to create a life," she said.
"There's a reason why certain areas of the body are desirable -- because it all leads to reproduction. There's a science behind it all. It's not just to sell whatever you're selling on a billboard or a magazine or a movie," she added.
Megan Fox has taken the help of her Facebook page to squash reports of her possibly using Botox to liven up her skin.
The actress silenced the rumours by posting a series of pictures on her Facebook page in an album entitled 'Things You Can't Do with Your Face when You Have Botox', reports the Daily Mail.
Fox tried to prove that her forehead muscles are not frozen as she clicked herself indulging in a number of facial expressions.
In one shot the former Transformers star created frown lines, while in another she was seen wearing a worried expression, and points to the lines on her forehead.
The 25-year-old also attempted to depict a shocked face in another snap.
In the final shot, Fox suggestively stared at the camera, displaying a perfectly-arched eyebrow.
Fox's recent red carpet appearances, where she looked flawless with plumper lips, sparked rumours that she had resorted to plastic surgery or injections.
The brunette beauty has also revealed her diet secrets that are responsible for her stunning figure.
Fox insisted that she doesn't follow a strict diet but 'mostly' eats raw foods.
She follows a strict healthy eating regime and makes sure she sits down for a meal five times a day alongside vitamin and mineral supplements.
"I eat five times a day and don't diet, but I do eat healthily -- mostly raw and vegan food with no dairy," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Marie Claire Magazine.
"It's not always possible with travel and filming, but I try."
"I also take supplements like silica and fish oil religiously," she added.
While Megan is busy quelling cosmetic surgery, other sexy celebs have no qualms about taking a little help from the surgeon.
Pregnant model Danielle Lloyd might have felt sexy while posing nude for a photoshoot and flaunting her baby bump like Demi Moore, but she has revealed her plans to undergo a surgery in order to get her perfect figure back after the birth of her second child.
The 27-year-old brunette posed wearing nothing but her makeup and jewellery in the latest issue of Closer, just like Moore did in her iconic naked shoot for Vanity Fair Magazine in 1991.
However, the Scouse model insisted that she would be undergoing a surgery to regain her pre-baby body after the birth in 10 weeks' time.
"'I'll get a trainer and go to the gym at least three times a week once the baby arrives. I've basically been pregnant for the past two years, so I can't wait to get my body back," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
"I'd like to be 9st and a size 8 before my wedding. If worst comes to worst, I'll consider lipo!" she said.
"My boobs get so big during pregnancy, I've got stretch marks and saggy skin. I want that removed and then a lift. I'd also like a chemical peel to even out my skin due to pregnancy pigmentation," she added.
The Celebrity Big Brother star is expecting the child with footballer fiance Jamie O'Hara, 24, in September.
Rihanna has been chosen as the new face for Italian fashion house Emporio Armani's underwear and jeans collection.
The California King Bed singer will appear in ads for the fall-winter 2011-2012 collections, which were shot in New York City and debut in September.
She follows in the footsteps David and Victoria Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Megan Fox in representing the brand, reports Contactmusic.
In a bid to stay in shape before the European leg of her 'Loud' tour begins in September, RiRi has also taken up a new dance form -- belly dancing.
She is being given lessons in the exotic art by a professional dancer from.
"She loves belly dancing and has been getting all her dancers to join in. They've even had a few private Arabian-themed parties," Contactmusic quoted her pal as telling the Daily Mirror newspaper.
"We shouldn't be surprised to see a little of this influence when Rihanna goes on tour later this year," the pal added.
Actress Courteney Cox will be sharing her beauty secrets in a new lifestyle blog.
The former Friends star has been signed on as the Home Editor for xoJane.com, where she will offer tips and product suggestions for women desperate to have young-looking skin and more energy, reports Contactmusic.
In her first blog, Cox admitted she uses a Clairol hair dye, which costs just 8.99 dollars, to keep her luscious brunette locks looking their best.
But she splurges on pricey make-up and skin creams from the Edward Bess collection.
Kate Moss is nothing if not wild.
Guests at her nuptials to rocker Jamie Hince last weekend were apparently thinking the same thing when they chose a particularly shocking present for her -- a pair of precipitous, bright red, snakeskin shoes inscribed with four-letter words on their soles.
One carried the phrase 'F*** me' spelled out in Swarovski crystals, while the other was emblazoned with 'F*** you'.
The customised seventies-style Margaux platforms, from celebrity shoe-maker Terry de Havilland, are said to have delighted the 37-year-old bride when she was presented with them at the three-day reception held at her 2-million-pounds Cotswolds farmhouse.
"The shoes were commissioned by Kate's friends as a surprise. They knew she was a great fan of Terry's shoes but they wanted to give her something different for her wedding," the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
"Terry has known Kate for years and when he found out that's who the commission was for, he made the shoes free of charge as his own gift to Kate and Jamie."
"He thought they would be ideal for her to wear on her honeymoon and the message would be a secret only she and Jamie knew about," the source added.
Emma Watson, who regularly wins accolades for her fashion choices, has admitted that she is too busy to pick out her own clothes, and needs help from a stylist to pick outfits for her.
"I confess, I've had some help because I've been so busy," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
The 21-year-old beauty has starred in several fashion campaigns and she admits she turned to modelling because her studies at Brown University made it difficult to commit to other movie projects.
"Because I have been studying, I haven't had much time to make another film or try and get directors and casting agents to look at me in a different way."
"I think fashion has been my way of expressing myself. In a way, I have been trying to play different characters in each of the photo shoots," she added.
Prada's Minimal Baroque sunglasses have become the latest fashion of this summer in Hollywood.
Many celeb including Selma Blair, Eva Mendes, Gwen Stefani and Ashley Olsen have donned the new round-lensed, swirly-armed frames, reports the Telegraph.
When Mary Kate started rocking a pair of vintage Ray-Bans in 2007, it caused a fashion revolution, which saw the classic specs reintroduced and become the only sunglasses to be seen in for seasons to come.
Now, Prada's 215-pound 'Minimal Baroque' frames have taken over as the standout frames of the summer season.
LeAnn Rimes's fitness trainer Michael Jackson has denied the rumours that the star is suffering from anorexia or bulimia, and said that she is not that skinny after all.
"I know it really bothers her," Jackson told Fox News.
"A lot of people see pictures of LeAnn and assume certain things. But we're in the process of putting a video together that she'll post to her blog so that people will see what it is that we're doing to get her in shape," he said.
"It'll probably go live sometime next month -- we haven't set an exact date. I know she's really anxious to show people -- excuse my French -- that she takes her s**t seriously," Jackson, who has been working with Rimes for about 10 months, explained.
Jackson wants people to understand that Rimes has worked hard for her lean physique.
"She's really focused, and I think that's what a lot of people don't see -- all the hard work and dedication that she's put in," he said. "(Her weight) is not an issue -- this is (a result of) her lifestyle," he added.
Looks like actor Will Smith's pop star daughter Willow will be making it big in the fashion world in the near future with her style statements.
Willow has been named an American fashion icon by top designer Derek Lam.
The 10-year-old Whip My Hair hitmaker and actress has been showing off her sassy style on the red carpet in recent months and her bold and colourful wardrobe choices have caught the eye of California-based Lam, who has chosen Willow as his top pick for Vogue Magazine.
"Naturally talented, charismatic, unblemished optimism, with the whole wide world open to her possibilities and abilities. I think she is the future-forward American icon," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
A Brazilian-style underwear that promises to provide a flattering and stylish solution to the dreaded visible panty line, or VPL, has helped boost the business of Marks and Spencer.
Sales of the underwear have soared by 64 percent in a year, with 500,000 pairs snapped up since the store offered a set of three for 10 pounds three months ago.
Designed to avoid creating lumps and bumps under clingy summer dresses and fitted trousers, the knickers are cut high on the leg, making legs appear longer.
And it was revealed yesterday that their popularity with shoppers has helped drive the chain to a robust trading performance against the background of a struggling High Street.
And, despite the cool summer weather, sales of M and S swimming costumes are up 50 percent on last year, while 49.50 pound maxi-dresses have been flying off the shelves.
Total like-for-like sales across the store grew by 1.7 percent in the 13 weeks to July 2, compared to the same period last year.
"In 2005, we designed and launched the Brazilian knicker shape," the Daily Mail quoted Soozie Jenkinson, Head Of Lingerie Design, as saying.
"Cheekier than the boyshort, but more covering than the thong, this first to market knicker shape was inspired by the bikinis worn by women on the beaches of Rio, hence the name The Brazilian."
"Delivering feminine style with a smooth flattering no VPL, this shape has become out fastest growing knicker style and now is available in lace, embroidery, silk and natural fibres," he added.
