It's a great honour for any celebrity to be featured in Vanity Fair's yearly round-up of the most well turned-out people internationally.
This is the magazine's 73rd annual round-up of stylish fashionistas and features the who's who from across the fields of entertainment, fashion, business and politics.
In the following pages, we bring you the lovely ladies who made the cut.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
Prince William's beautiful wife has a wardrobe that has won her millions of fans across the globe -- and it's mainly because she effortlessly mixes high street and designer labels and always manages to look stunning.
It's hardly surprising that this is her third time in a row on the list and what's more, she took the top spot this year. From the looks of it, Kate may well hold onto the title in 2013 too!
The 31-year-old American actress' career is going places and her glamorous Hollywood appeal seems to sit well with fashion's elite, which is why she was honoured by the magazine this time around.
Coming in third after Jessica we have sexy French actress and model Lea, who appeared in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
The musician always hits the right notes on the red carpet, wearing ensembles that flatter her figure and set her apart from the crowd.
Chinese actress, singer and producer, Fan's exotic appeal is considerably enhanced by her wardrobe -- and by the fact that she's not afraid to experiment, going from evening elegance to biker chic, depending upon the occasion.
Speaking of experimenting with style, couture chameleon Michelle made it high up on Vanity Fair's list. The Colombian-born, New York-based brand consultant certainly knows how to make sure she's the centre of attention!
The second royal to make it after Kate, Princess Alexandra is known for her trademark elegance, carrying off everything from jeans and boots to glamorous gowns.
French actress and director Farida is Italian couture house Schiaparelli's newest muse, perfectly capable of pulling off everything from cocktail class to androgyny.
The petite founder and designer of fashion label Alice + Olivia is always on-trend and looks as stylish as her waifish models.
The German former model and actress is capable of turning all the heads in a room and it's not just down to her blonde beauty and piercing blue gaze. Diane knows how to dress like an A-lister, which is why she regularly makes it to the magazine's annual round-up.
You may not have heard of Erika, but she's the senior vice president of global communications at Oscar de la Renta and a known face in fashion circles. Plus, her wardrobe could turn any style-conscious woman green with envy!
Russian fashion designer Ulyana is quite the looker herself. She could well be mistaken for a model and with her impeccable taste in clothes, belongs on the ramp, we think!
Close in Ulyana's heels is British designer Stella McCartney. Despite her famous last name, she's forged a reputation for herself based solely on merit and is the go-to couturier for A-listers from across the world.
The wife of American millionaire hotelier Jonathan M Tisch, Lizzie dresses the part. Her signature style, however, is vivacious and alluring, rather than stuffy and predictable.
British model and socialite Poppy is only 25, but her choice of clothing belies her age. She has made quite an impact on the UK's fashion scene and is one of the youngest women to receive the best-dressed honour from Vanity Fair this year.
The Dutch royal has a sophisticated, subtle wardrobe that manages to garner the right kind of attention without resorting to bling.
The model daughter of Italian siren Isabella Rossellini, Elettra has inherited her mother's smashing good looks and discerning taste in clothes.
This 25-year-old Monaco royal does not feature on the list only by virtue of her birth -- Charlotte is also presently the face of Gucci.
Sheikha Mozah's demure but sophisticated wardrobe has seen her to the Vanity Fair list before and likely will again -- she manages to mix the traditional and the trendy with a skill unmatched.
Among the couples, actor Colin Firth and his pretty wife Livia figured high up in the fashion stakes -- they do look elegant, don't they?
It's not often that magazines promote employees from rival organisations, but Vogue contributing editor Lauren and her husband, who is heir to Colombia's richest beer family, also figure among Vanity Fair's best-dressed.
And finally we come to movie producer Ginevra and her entrepreneur partner Giovanni, who are quite the Italian power couple -- A-listers when it comes to European fashion.
