Each year, prestigious aperitif brand Campari releases a limited-edition, exclusive calendar starring a celebrity.

And for 2013, the sizzling Penelope Cruz takes centrestage, following in the footsteps of A-listers like Milla Jovovich, Eva Mendes and Jessica Alba, among others.

Celebrated Paris-based photographer Kristian Schuller shot this latest edition; entitled Kiss Superstition Goodbye, it draws inspiration from the breaking down of superstitions, such as those associated with the number 13. A fitting theme, considering we're standing on the threshold of 2013!

We see yummy mummy Penelope in a host of stunning red-hot images, defying several mystical superstitions, such as black cats, broken mirrors and walking under ladders, as well as walking on cracks.

And of course, there's a bottle or glass of Campari on every page! Take a look.

The introductory page reveals the Spanish siren taking an ice pick to the magical number 13, wearing a Romona Keveza gown with asymmetrical neckline and flowing skirt, shoes by Stuart Weitzman and jewellery by Chopard.

Penelope dispels the myth surrounding black cats as she poses in an oxblood Zac Posen draped shoulder bustier gown and Joyeria Molina Cuevas earrings.

Next, she takes a gamble with the number 13 in a long pleated dress by Alaia and jewellery by Joyeria Molina Cuevas.

She has no qualms opening an umbrella indoors, looking playful in an Alaia trench coat and Casadei pumps.

The month of April finds Penelope pondering her reflection in broken mirrors; she has on a Zac Posen pin-tuck chiffon halter number, shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo and Red Carpet Collection Jewellery by Joyeria Molina Cuevas.

It is believed that a broom swept over your feet brings bad luck, but the Hollywood actress is having none of it in this marvellous Marchesa hand-embroidered ensemble and Salvatore Ferragamo heels.

She continues her defiant streak with several hats strewn over her bed, sitting pretty in a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label cocotte dress and custom-made hat from The Hat Shop Shoes; the shoes are from Ferragamo.

Looking like a million dollars in a Zac Posen one-shoulder gown, Ferragamo footwear and Joyeria Molina Cuevas art deco bracelet, she welcomes a bird flying into a room. And not just any bird, a raven, considered a harbinger of doom!

Penelope is a retro-style sunbathing beauty in this custom-made, shoes by Alaia and Oliver Peoples 'Corie' sunglasses. In case you're wondering about the superstition associated with this photograph, she's lying on spilled salt.

She walks along cracks in the floor for September, showing off her toned back in a short Emilio Pucci cocktail, Ferragamo shoes and earrings and ring by Joyeria Molina Cuevas.

The A-lister reveals her curvy derriere in Michael Kors pants, a custom-made top, Alaia shoes and jewellery by Joyeria Molina Cuevas. She's surrounded by fallen portraits of herself (another ill omen).

She wears nothing but an apron in this still, as she forges horseshoes -- incidentally, you're not supposed to hang them upside down.

And finally, December 2013 sees Penelope walking under ladders in a Monique Lhuillier gown, Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and Joyeria Molina Cuevas jewellery once again.
