Say 'I do' in style: Indian bridal finery

The Marriage-n-Vogue fashion show held in Kolkata earlier this month saw a number of Indian designers showcase bold bridal trends for 2009. Bright colours and dare-to-bare cuts came together with Indian themes and traditional patterns to create looks that are opulent, cutting-edge and still very Indian. Take a look.

First up is this mauve-meets-silver sari by Arnab Sengupta -- its vibrant hues and embossed pattern give it a very distinct, stand-apart quality.

Next up is this lovely peach and leaf ghagra choli by Jaya Misra, complete with corset blouse and ruffled inner layers. Don't miss the unusual manner in which the dupatta is woven across the front.

If you dare to bare on your wedding day, this stringy bikini choli with matching embellished ghagra by designer duo Ayan and Preetika should be right up your alley.

Arnab Sengupta picked up on the ruffle trend of 2009 to spice up his bridal ensemble -- a halterneck ghagra choli and sprig-like headgear, topped off with a funky little rainbow bolero.

Model Indrani Dasgupta sizzles in this brocade waistcoat and pink tulle number by Raj Mahtani; the heavy, antiquated jewellery only adds to the overall effect.

And finally, we have actress Chandreyee Ghosh, who graced the ramp in this sunny yellow outfit by designer Debarun Mukherjee.
