Right from his graduation days, Rahul Mishra has proved that he was born to be a designer.
From winning the best student of the year award in 2005 from the National Institute of Design to bagging the International Designer of the Year award at the International Apparel Federation in 2009, Mishra has a series of achievements and titles to his credit.
He recently showcased his handloom collection titled Sunehri on Day Four of the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai.
Blending hand woven textiles from Central India with international designs, Mishra created a magic of colours on the stage.

The collection started off with a white lehenga teamed with a handwoven sheer jacket, a combination that looked ethereal followed by a sleeveless white floor length gown with an embroidered bodice and orange and green floral motifs.
From traditional white kalidaars to lehengas, the collection moved on to feature colourful drapes with long sleeved and collared blouses and cocktail dresses.
Mishra played with soft pastel shades like pink, red, yellow and green which illuminated the stage as they appeared; the salwar-kameez above is an example in itself.
Each of Mishra's creations were sleek and elegant with definite cuts which made it appealing to women across demographics.
The silken silhouettes embellished with gold borders ensured that the dresses had an international appeal.
The outfits in fiery fashion hues of regal purple, red and navy were the high points of Mishra's collection.
Mishra's collection ended with the colour black taking over. Seen above is a solitary black brocade mini with ballooned sleeves.
A black and red bordered saree teamed with a golden peplum jacket followed next.
The black lehenga with patterned golden border was highlighted with a sheer shift pallav.
The Sunehri collection in every way was a fitting tribute to the golden era of Indian handloom industry and its weavers and craftsmen.
