Curtains came down on the Lakme Fashion Week Winter-Festive 2013 season with Sabyasachi Mukherjee's magnificent show. Was it his best show yet? Take a look and decide for yourself! Here are the highlights:
The master couturier, Sabyasachi Mukherjee brought the curtains down on the Lakme Fashion Week on Tuesday night in style. Mukherjee's runway, like most of his previous ones, transported you to a different era with its vintage ambience.
Twinkling bulbs covered the ceiling while mirrors lined the backdrop and silver pillars seemed to evoke the mood of a classy gentleman's club.
As always, it was a pleasure to watch Indrani Dasgupta as she walked the runway in this luxurious crystal choli and a pair of sunglasses.
The line harked back upon the times gone by as stately outfits in shades of jewel tones and regal hues wafted across the ramp.
The show opened with a live performance of 'Feeling Good' by Rachel Varghese and then moved on to the Pink Panther theme.
Sabyasachi paired sheer saris with mini skirt petticoats, micro mini dresses, peplum silhouettes with structured, panelled/quilted sport jackets, waistcoats and cropped tops to create a whimsical design theme.
From the midst of all the stunning lace work and embroidered embellishment signature Sabyasachi prints stood out, making their presence felt.
A unique facet of the collection was acid-burned zardosi that gilded a rich khadi leopard print.
The stunning Noyonika Chatterjee walks the runway in a breathtaking Sabyasachi outfit.
Sucheta Sharma walked the runway in this interesting unisex sherwani that caught our eye.
Also walking for Sabya was Candice Pinto in this stunning satin pastel sari.
This was perhaps one of Sabya's most opulent and bling-filled collections. Seen here is a stunning crystal top paired with a flared skirt.
Sabya's menswear featured colourful sherwanis, Jodhpuri jackets and bundgalas in printed or plain fabric sans any embroidery.
Accentuated red lips and smoky eyes and leather boots/shoes and embellished mojris and chappals completed the look of the show.
Taking to the ramp again was Indrani Dasgupta, looking stately as ever.
Ever so shy, Sabyasachi Mukherjee took to the ramp almost hesitantly and slinked back into the wings.
