Bhairavi Jaikishan presents a bridal line for the wedding season this summer.
It doesn't take a lot for us to break into a song and dance wedding in India. And while the primary bridal season in the country is in the second half of the year, summer weddings aren't uncommon either.
Perhaps keeping this in mind, Bhairavi Jaikishan launched her bridal collection for the modern Indian bride.
Clearly hoping to target the wedding market, Jaikishan's collection consisted of her signature silhouettes of the traditional sari, lehenga and the lehenga-sari.
For the first time however the designer presented a line of festive kurtas that can be worn either with churidaars or voluminous lehengas, shararas and ghararas.
Bhairavi Jaikishan is known for her pastels as well as her bright colour pallete and this collection was no exception.
The palette however also included liquid gold, pale aqua, lemon, pistachio and rose as well as sunset, coral, fuschias and reds.
However one couldn't shake off the feeling of deja vu as models emerged out of the wings one after the other as neither the colour palette nor the silhouettes had little or nothing new to offer. See this, this and this.
Jaikishan is known for her contemporary embroideries, best seen in this sari. However even as the design took the breath away, the heart wished for something more dramatic.

Closing the show for the designer was Candice Pinto who played the coy bride to the tee.
