We bring you a round-up of showings by Nachiket Barve, Swapnil Shinde and more!
Here's some more buzz from Day Two of Lakme Fashion Week, featuring the work of Nachiket Barve, Swapnil Shinde, LittleShilpa, Parvesh Jai and Payal Kapoor.
We kick off with the DHL-endorsed showing by Nachiket Barve, Swapnil Shinde and LittleShilpa in succession. Seen here is a stunning Barve design, consisting of a see-through top worn over a red bikini and asymmetrical layered skirt.
Striking it bright is this becoming pair of shorts and blouse in twilight tones.
The designer offers up red carpet glamour by way of this dip-dye halterneck gown.
Things take a vibrant turn with this wave-patterned cross-over tunic, worn over leggings.
Barve's final ensemble is this ravishing backless beauty in shades of citrus pink and orange.
Next up is Swapnil Shinde, starting with this exaggerated ruffle cocktail -- quite a chic statement.
Next is this futuristic mini with cut-away panels at the waist.
Dare to be different and on-trend in this structured, pleated number!
Billowing onto the catwalk here is a canary-yellow attention-grabber.
And here is Shinde's final design, a white pleated twirler that keeps to the waves and pleats theme.
Shilpa Chavan, or LittleShilpa, as she is better known, went the usual route with creations that are low on wearability and high on imagination. Seen here is Surelee Joseph in one of her -- er -- 'outfits' (not really!).
We see a similar design once again, although this time it is donned by a male model.
Someone should alert Lady Gaga to the existence of this structured ensemble -- she'd be right at home in it (by the way, Gaga is a LittleShilpa fan)!
And here is the designer's last piece. As usual, we have difficulty saying much about it!
Surelee Joseph reappears in a far more wearable number from Parvesh Jai, whose bridal collection returned to a glorious bygone era of zardozi splendour.
Green and purple come together in a beautiful mix on this curve-revealing ensemble.
The designer offers up a stunning red ethnic jacket (which reveals a lot of cleavage!) worn over a lehenga.
Lush green with dramatic gold accoutrements makes its presence felt on the runway.
Jai winds down with another peacock-inspired showstopper, complete with feathered sleeves.
The designer sends out the same colour scheme, but this time they complement a light cocktail sari.
Nicole Faria plays up to the flashbulbs in a beautiful threadwork kurta and gold-lined dupatta.
Supermodel Sheetal Mallar steps out in the bright showstopping bridal creation for Kapoor, one any blushing bride would love to wear on her big day.
