LFW PICS: From sexy see-throughs to festive formals!

A showing that highlighted the diverse talents of designers Amrita Thakur, Nishka Lulla, Prashant Chauhan and SS Surya opened Day Five of Lakme. Photographs: Rajesh Karkera

Designs covering all ends of the spectrum were highlighted on the fifth and final day of the LFW, with a combined showing by four young designers.

Colourful festive styles, sexy dare-to-bare dresses, fusion garments and amazing cutwork were all presented, in a bid to cater to all tastes.

We start off with Prashant Chauhan's contemporary, chic line that saw plenty of sheers and floral motifs, inspired by the fragrant Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand. Seen here are three of his creations, with Kavita Kharayat out front, wearing a leather-look corset and train that emerges from applique bikini bottoms.

Transparent tunics add to the silhouettes of a cut-out black dress and jumpsuit.

A dip-dye peplum number sports delicate blossoms on the bodice and a see-through skirt below.

We see more of the designer's floral inspirations on a midi, mini and fishtail maxi.

It's a sweater for two that takes to the ramp next, worn by two models together!

Chauhan poses on the runway as his collection draws to a close.

Amrita Thakur's latest line offered up light and delicate ethnicwear in keeping with the festive season.

Called 'Salma Sitara', meaning 'touches of shimmer and shine', the fabrics used were luxurious, the colours rich and the embroidery tasteful -- seen here are three citrus silhouettes.

A vibrant red anarkali with delicate gold embellishments takes to the runway next.

We see the front and back of yet another anarkali in vivacious orange, with a striking blue blue piping.

Nethra Raghuraman takes centrestage in the showstopper, a mehendi organza jacket teamed with a bright pink kurta and striking dupatta.

Amrita Thakur steps out as well-dressed as her models.

Inspired by the beautiful jewellery of the goddess Durga, Surya Sarkar's 'Daker Saaj' was a a fusion line of women's and menswear dominated by white and gold.

A variety of jumpsuits, pants and classic structured gowns took to the ramp, embellished by different appliques and origami folds; seen here are three designs from the collection.

Sporting strategically placed dazzling cutwork appliques, a sheer gown makes its way onto the runway.

A trio of exquisite ivory minidresses is seen, each sporting unique patterns of cutwork and origami.

The designer offers up two different garments for both sexes in the same vein.

Sarkar steps out to acknowledge the applause at the close of his show.

And finally we come to Nishka Lulla's collection, which was aimed at "the modern woman who loves to opt for truly travel-Boho-chic garments".

The designer offered up garments that spelt comfort and exuded a chic, easygoing vibe using ikat and winter floral motifs. The palette consisted of grey, soft pinks, aqua, green, coral and lavender, occasionally topped with black and white.

Seen here are two bohemian saris and a pair of comfort-fit pants teamed with a shawl.

An elasticised hem skirt is teamed with a soft silk dip-back shirt for effect.

Kavita Kharayat and Nethra Raghuraman sport a jumpsuit and sack dress respectively, in subtle grey.

Nishka Lulla steps out wearing one of her own designs to mark the close of her line.
