Here's what veteran designer Wendell Rodricks had to offer at the closing show of Lakme Fashion Week's second day. Photographs: Uttam Ghosh
Long dresses, georgette circle dupattas, satin silk long line cholis, kurtas and high-waisted dhotis cascaded down the runway as part of Wendell Rodricks' 'Timeless' collection on Day Two of the LFW.
The fluid garments retained the designer's free-spirited signature look, but in a departure from his usual offerings, had a distinctly Indian feel to them, something he described as "difficult" because of the "unusual styling".
Seen here is a wispy colour-block two-layered sari.
Next we see Nethra Raghuraman in an array of electric colours spliced together.
Alesia Raut takes a turn on the ramp in a multi-layered ensemble featuring tie-up detail at the neck and dramatic cross-over down the front.
Rodricks takes drop-crotch pants to the extreme with this unusual jumpsuit for men.
Spiffy white linens, a classic resort look, are complemented by a looping threaded shawl.
All-white for the ladies is jazzed up with a dramatic cape with cut-out shoulders.
The same ensemble is worn in two different ways to showcase its versatility.
Cascading sleeves and side pockets add an urban vibe to this boho tunic, teamed with pants.
Surelee Joseph strikes a pose in a poncho-style kurta and wide-leg pants.
We see more of the colour-blocking trend with this panelled, free-flowing maxi.
A half-pant-half-dress creation modelled by Kavita Kharayat makes a statement.
The striking simplicity of black is broken by a vibrant fuschia trim that drapes down the front.
The designer offers up another yummy citrus number with aqua blue added on for effect.
Diva Dhawan shows off another bright poncho-style garment draped over one shoulder.
Twirling in orange, we see Sanea Shaikh dominate the ramp.
The showstopper is Tegan Rodricks, the designer's niece and god-daughter, modelling a daring black backless ensemble.
Rodricks proudly escorts Tegan down the runway to mark the close of his showing -- guess fashion runs in their family!
