Here's what designer Drashta Sarvaiya had to offer on Day Two of Lakme Fashion Week. Photographs: Rajesh Karkera
Designer Drashta Sarvaiya explored two themes in her line, showcased today at Lakme Fashion Week -- one was peplums, which are the 'in' thing in the fashion world at the moment. And the other was the the work of symbolist painter Gustav Klimt, particularly his nudes.
Both the above are explored in beautifully draped dresses, ranging from nude and white to the bright floral hues and motifs Klimt infused his nature-inspired artwork with. Take a look.
First up we see a rich yellow layered number, twirling dramatically on the runway.
Next we see Diva Dhawan in a lovely white peplum top, teamed with matching pants.
Things continue in the same demure vein with a tan maxi skirt and wispy white top yet again.
Nude comes to the fore with this low-cut, richly embossed dress.
Florals in pastel blues and citrus yellows make their presence felt on the runway.
Kavita Kharayat strikes a pose in a flowery pencil skirt and elegant powder-blue sleeveless top.
Pants come into focus with these tapering cuts in silky blue and pink, the latter sporting a ruffle at the waist.
This design is the epitome of romance, with its lovely flowered dip hem skirt and pleated pink bodice.
We see the pink pleats once more, and this time they make quite a statement on a one-sided gown.
The designer plays with the same idea, going strapless with fuschia this time around.
