You can always trust Ritu Beri to do things in style, so it's no surprise that hers was one of the most talked-about showings at the LFW.
The veteran designer packed a punch with her latest line 'Icons of Luxury' -- it was flamboyant, it was dramatic, it was glamorous and truly inspired by one of the greatest icons of our times.
Beri's take on Marilyn Monroe came alive in a showing staged in association with Scandinavian automobile brand Volvo, so she sought to incorporate their philosophy -- 'Designed Around You' -- into her effort to "bring out the Marilyn in every woman". Take a look.
Model Jesse Randhawa got things off to a great start with her theatrics and romantic retro gown, oozing classic silver screen glamour.
Next we have Surelee Joseph in a unique get-up consisting of dungaree shorts, denim boots and a smock top, the sleeves of which cascade to the floor.
Nethra Raghuraman looks stunning in a crocheted pink monokini and gargantuan skirt, topped off with an oversized ruffled collar and cloche hat.
The designer offers several takes on denim, ranging from a crocheted-detailed dress to a jacket, daisy dukes and boots.
A feminine ballet-influenced look moves into grunge-y jeans and heeled suede boots -- quite a combo!
Things take a more urbane turn with this floral asymmetric dress, bolero and floral-embellished footwear.
Beri offers up an all-white crocheted ensemble, the sheer jacket trailing all the way to the floor.
Flamboyant and busy, this jumpsuit looks like a cross between bell-bottoms and sharara pants!
Also stepping out in a jumpsuit and puffed-sleeve bolero we see Jesse once more, her athletic figure highlighted by the body-hugging number.
From florals to retro looks to citrus tones, the designer covers a plethora of trends.
Although this dip-hem ivory dress and pencil pants are both Westernwear, together they create a somewhat ethnic fusion vibe.
Evening elegance sails onto the ramp in the form of this lovely halterneck gown.
Vivacious red ruffles are jazzed up even more using a fur faux shrug.
Black and white come together on an array of ensembles, ranging from bell-bottoms to a fishtail skirt, a regal jacket and sexy stockings.
Nethra steps out in a cloud of ruffles, on the arm of a male model wearing a dapper Nehru coat.
Jesse makes her final entry in the showstopper, proving that she's the undisputed catwalk queen -- except for strategically placed embellishments, it's completely transparent!
Beri steps out hand-in-hand with Jesse, looking every inch the fashionista she is, and is met with thunderous applause.
