Anita Dongre presented a gorgeous collection titled Waves of Joy on Day 3 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012. Here are stunning images from the show. Photographs: Hitesh Harisinghani
Someone in the Godrej Interio marketing team -- the company that sponsored Anita Dongre's show -- decided that it would be a good idea to create 3D special effects on the ramp.
So you had Dipannita Sharma walking down, well walking up actually, from the camerapersons' pit towards the middle of the ramp and pausing in the middle as the SFX team that Godrej had hired projected some of their sofas on the screens and Sharma pretended (with some difficulty) to be surprised.

Models in gorgeous swirling long gowns with trellised yokes in pretty pastels glide down the ramp.
The silhouette was very 1950s, as stiff flouncy canvas petticoats rustled under the full circle skirts of the dresses, with provocative necklines and sensually cinched at the waist.
Seen here is model Surelee Joseph in a one-piece palazzo jumpsuit.
Sucheta Sharma walks in a strappy gown and a sheer cover.
Waves of Joy featured silhouettes that were laidback yet sophisticated; a model walks in a deep V-neck white dress.
The collection saw a lot of pastels. Here's Kritika Babu in a candy pink palazzo.
The designer sought to pay tribute to the Indian weaves combining organic fair trade cotton with 'boho-luxe' in retro sty#8804 a model walks the ramp in a sensual sari.
Dipannita returns to the ramp in this wonderfully colourful sari.
This was the first time that Anita Dongre designed for men -- her line of linen shirts came in shades of pink, turquoise and lime. Jitin Gulati walks the ramp in one.
The palette then moved to starker colours -- white and black -- ostensibly inspired by the furniture collection that had sponsored the show.
The ramp too, if you notice, had the Godrej Interio trademark print on it.
Candice Pinto strikes a pose and other models take their positions behind her as the show draws to a close.
Anita Dongre walked the ramp to take the final bow... but not before her sponsors plug their product one more time with a little help from their special effects team.
