Agnimitra Paul and Rohit-Abhishek presented their collection on Day Four of the Lakme Fashion Week. Photographs: Uttam Ghosh
The penultimate show on the Indian Textile Day at the Lakme Fashion Week saw Agnimitra Paul and Rajasthan-based Rohit-Abhishek show their collections.
Agnimitra's collection sought inspiration from the Madhubani paintings of Bihar. First up we have Surelee Joseph sporting a pair of beautiful palazzo pants with motifs from the legendary paintings.

The colour palette was bright and included fluorescent colours as well as pastels.
A dazzling blend

Agnimitra Paul's attempt was to popularize the art form through her garments, a task we say she accomplished successfully.
The showstopper

Actor Vinay Pathak was the showstopper for the young designer and seemed to enjoy every moment of his debut on the runway.

Rajasthan-based designers Rohit and Abhishek totally took the runway by storm as they showcased an all menswear line at the Lakme Fashion Week.
The duo opened the show with a tantalising belly dancer, Colleena Shakti balancing a sword on her head.
Rich and earthy

Called The Urban Tribe, the collection was quite evidently targetted at the young urban Indian man.
Piping bandhgala

Using handloom weaves and khadi of Rajasthan, the designers created a line that included among other things, their signature bandhgalas.
Fitted silhouette

Internationally, blue is the new black and this almost dandy-esque block print shirt seems to follow the trend.
The modern Maharaja

A clean structured silhouette on the top offset by lose baggy one below, this design took our breath away by its stark simplicity.
For the fashionably adventurous

What we also couldn't help drooling over were these gladiator shoes that seem largely to have been appropriated by the women!
Bundi trend
Photographs: Uttam Ghosh/ Rediff.com
While Nishka Lulla brought back the grandfather trousers on the runway (see here and here), Rohit and Abhishek brought his bundi under the arclights.
Metal art

Finally we have this stunning metal embroidery work that totally had us floored and made us want to rush to their stalls.
