Swapnil Shinde showed his creation that sought to juxtapose the tribal and primeval with futuristic and robotic. Photographs: Hitesh Harisinghani
Hoping to 'capture eroticism in its purest form... something tribal, dark, raw, dramatic... and futuristic' Swapnil Shinde's muse was a (very) kinky and futuristic Madonna as the designer took cue from the human and robotic anatomy for his latest collection, Untitled.
Former Miss India Manasvi Mamgai opened the show for the designer.
Shinde's points of reference were the sci-fi movies of the 1980s and the look he hoped to achieve was predator-meets-terminator. Sanea Shaikh walks the ramp in one of Shinde's creations.
Alecia Raut walks the ramp in an evening gown presumably for a black-tie event in 3012.
Closer to our times, Sheela Tiruchi shows up in a florescent green outfit with a butterfly themed neckpiece and a pair of futuristic-looking shoes that we presume would light up her path in the dark!
Swapnil Shinde takes a bow as his models applaud his creations.
