We asked some of the leading names in the fashion business to create a bridal ensemble for princess-in-waiting Kate Middleton. Here's what they came up with!

The future Queen of England's wedding gown is still very much under wraps and we can hardly wait to see her in it.

While speculation runs rife as to who has designed it, we contacted some of our own leading couturiers to come up with a design for Kate.

Some of them kindly obliged, so we present to you a range of breathtaking designs by the likes of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Anita Dongre and more!

The talented twosome have an impeccable reputation as bridal designers. In their own words, they would dress Kate Middleton "in one of our classic chikan creations for her wedding. It is a full length empire line gown which has been dressed up with emerald, ruby and pearl stones and a huge dupatta which can be used as a veil." They picked this particular garment because chikan is not only their classic line, but "is a stitch which is so beautifully Indian, even though the dress has an Eastern flavour".

Here is an offering from Anita Dongre.

She says, "Black is a classic statement-making colour which can never go wrong on anyone. It's a colour which can never lose its significance in the world of fashion. Kate would look lovely in this black gown that she can add to her trousseau. As she is extremely elegant and classy, she can pull it off beautifully for any of her evening occasions."

Says popular bridal couturier Riyaz Gangji, "Kate Middleton carries the princely English/British look like Diana, so according to me the dress that will perfectly suite her princely status is this cream and red outfit."

He continues, "The dress that I have chosen is an Indian bridal, not too loud but subtle with a soft tone of colours. It looks classy and not overly dressed. The colour red has a huge importance at Indian weddings, but it would not suit Kate Middleton's features -- it would be too loud and would not match her persona. This garment has a very sexy skin tone blouse and the red nail polish will suit the Indian-English concept very well."

"For me, Kate Middleton perfectly embodies what it means to have strong personal style -- she is beautiful, with a model-like physique and really carries herself like a queen!" enthuses Pria Kataaria Puri. "She is a perfect blend of classic yet modern beauty. For her, I would design a modern vintage gown that has both tradional and modern accents."

Adds Pria, "The PKP 'Elita' gown, in offwhite silk tulle, embellished with antique vintage gold zardozi, Swaroski and beads in a vintage paisley pattern is both vintage and a modern classic -- perfect for Kate's classic, elegant persona. It's very easy to move about in and enjoy her wedding!"

This beautiful sketch is the work of leading designer Raghavendra Rathore.

"Timeless and ultra-feminine are the two keywords which have been coherent with the suggested look for Kate Middleton, who swiftly sways as the epitome of a classic beauty," he says. "Standing tall with grace and poise, a long voluminous printed kaftan would beautifully complement the headstrong and fresh persona of the princess-to-be."

The next sketch we have is from Gayatri Khanna.

"Today, royalty is all about dressing classy and minimal, rather than being over the top and flamboyant," explains Gayatri. "I choose to give Kate a very simple yet chic, fluid wedding gown in off-white satin faced chiffon, with hints of pale pinks, peach and silver and hand-embroidered flowers running diagonally across the midriff. To break the monotony of the off-whites, I also suggests lace showing below the hem and a lace trail in pale pink."

Abdul Halder

Abdul Halder seems to be of a decidedly different opinion.

"I think since it's a royal wedding, it has to be really flamboyant and outstanding!" he says of Kate's bridal choice. "I would choose this Western wedding dress in white out of my many creations."
