From Katy Perry to Camila Alves, a host of Hollywood celebs are passing up the best offerings of world-famous luxury fashion houses in favour of Indian labels like Falguni & Shane Peacock and Manish Arora.

It's always a matter of pride when a well-known celebrity from the other side of the pond crosses over, sartorially speaking -- and even more so when it's not necessarily ethnicwear they're after.

Now that gowns by Gaurav Gupta and Alpana-Neeraj are making their way onto the same red carpets as creations by Givenchy and Armani, we bring you a glimpse of some memorable Indian designs spotted on international stars, both recently and from a few years ago.

Paris Hilton in Falguni & Shane Peacock

The reality TV star is a big fan of the duo and her latest outing in one of their signature designs was at amfAR's 20th Annual Cinema Against AIDS during the Cannes Film Festival last month.

Now not everyone is a fan of Paris, but you have to admit, she looks quite stunning in this custom baby pink gown with feather embellishments at the bottom.

Paris wasn't the only one who chose an Indian creation to make an impression at Cannes in May; Chinese-born American actress Bai Ling chose to stand out in this bling-thing sequinned cocktail by Rohit Gandhi Rahul Khanna, at the Opening Ceremony and The Great Gatsby premiere.

When her movie Spring Breakers premiered in Paris this February, the blonde beauty dominated the red carpet in this gorgeous black fishtail with plunging keyhole neckline.

Incidentally, Jacqueline Fernandez was also spotted in a more demure version of this gown last year (click here for a comparison between the two).

The British TV presenter and fashionista made quite a statement in this sheen-tinged salmon pink ensemble by Arora at the Golden Globes after-party in January.

In June 2012, the actress attended the Daytime Emmy Awards in this pleated blue reverie by Amit GT, revealing her athletic frame -- and a lot of leg!

The fashion-forward aristocrat and model attended a Los Angeles event in May last year, wearing this edgy wooden structured dress by the designer duo.

Like Lady Victoria, the Vampire Diaries actress is also a fan of the talented twosome. In April 2012, she was photographed at the Hollywood premiere of The Avengers wearing this futuristic metallic blue creation from their label.

The quirky popster has an association with Arora that goes way back (she was first spotted performing in one of his ensembles back in 2008). So it's hardly surprising that Katy chose to attend the Echo Awards in Berlin wearing one of his designs for Paco Rabanne -- a pink mirrored mini -- in March last year. After all, Arora was artistic director at the Spanish fashion house between 2011 and 2012.

This see-through lace number certainly turned heads at the Brit Awards in February 2012. It's a good thing the English singer doesn't mind baring her bod -- we don't see any of our B-Town divas donning anything similar anytime soon!

Another Indian brand also made its presence felt at the Brit Awards last year -- singer Alexandra Burke opted for this funky colourblock gown by Alpana-Neeraj.

Gupta made his foray onto the international style scene at the Grammys in February 2012, where actress Janina Gavankar graced the red carpet in this sexy peek-a-boo ivory ensemble.

Beyonce's Destiny's Child bandmate gave a nod to the Peacocks when she slipped into this fitted sheath dress with sheer panels at an LA music event in February last year.

Matthew McConaughey's wife proved her supermodel credentials in this sparkling striped Arora outfit at a Cirque du Soleil performance in Hollywood, September 2011.

The reality star-turned-fashionista highlighted her newly slimmed-down figure in August 2011, when she attended a documentary premiere in this busy printed cocktail by Arora.

It was quite a feather in the Peacocks' cap when the Black Eyed Peas songstress graced the American Music Awards in November 2010 wearing this heavily embellished design.

At the same instalment of the AMAs, the female rapper opted for a quirky Arora creation that resembled a cross between a dress form and an external armour.

Rocky styled not one but five seductive sari looks for the girl group when they appeared at NYC's 'Fashion Rocks' event in September 2008.

And finally, we have this image of the English actress from when she was still married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar. Liz chose the glittering pink drape by Bal to attend the Breast Cancer Foundation's Hottest Pink Party in New York City back in April 2008.
