Here's a glimpse of the beachwear that lit up the runway on Day One of India Resort Fashion Week.
When a fashion event takes place in Goa, it's sure to feature bikinis, swimsuits and resortwear.
And that's just what designers Nidhi Munim, Gogee, James Ferreira and Anupamaa Dayal had in store on Day One of the IRFW yesterday, along with a jewellery showing by Varuna D Jani.
We bring you the best off the runway, starting with Nidhi's collection for the stylish beach babe called 'Bay Dreams'. Seen here is a unique belted monokini in colourblock.
Next we have a yellow cut-away consisting of both a print and solid bandeau, teamed with a wispy beach robe.
A classic one-piece with striking orange stripes makes its way onto the ramp.
A model shows off her turquoise two-piece from under a sheer white tunic.
This hottie blows kisses to the audience as she poses in a cut-out.
Bright hues provide a brilliant contrast on this daring number.
One of Nidhi's muses seems to be clicking some pictures of her own as she struts her stuff in a one-shouldered one--piece.
And here we have another cheerful pink swimsuit, topped off with a lovely sheer robe.
Designer Gogee's collection from her label 'Swan' was a fun, flirty affair dominated with black and white with splashes of colour added in.
As live music played in the background, her models sashayed down the ramp in lovely resort creations like this dotted bikini top and matching shorts, worn with thong sandals and a beach tote.
Here we see another two-piece in black, along with a cover-up sporting a bubble-printed hem.
For those fun beach parties, this bubble hem asymmetrical dress is just the thing.
The designer offers up two black and white ensembles with a similar flowing silhouette.
For the finale of Gogee's show, Purab Kohli (with a guitar, no less!), British actress Hazel Keech and Miss International Paraguay 2012 Nicole Huber left quite an impression.
James Ferreira's latest offerings, collectively called 'Dawn to Dusk', consisted of fluid fabrics, cruise clothing and swimwear from Sri Lankan brand MAS Linea Aqua.
Seen here is a blue drape dress that doubles as a beach cover, worn over a cut-away red swimsuit.
Now she's wearing it, now she isn't -- a model shows off a sexy string bikini and satin fuschia cover-up.
It's colourblock time once more with this fluid number.
For the men, Ferreira sends out a pair of swim shorts and rather metrosexual netted robe.
Deep blue and sporting a print, this sarong doubles up as a wrap-around dress.
Cruise couture comes to the fore with these flared shorts and a see-through olive-toned blouse.
We see the same shorts once more, this time in another colour and combined with a red cut-out swimsuit.
Things continue in the same vein with another flowing, carelessly fastened affair.
Dancer and actress Isha Sharvani, who kicked off the designer's showing with a performance, models the designer's glamorous showstopper.
Jewellery designer Varuna D Jani lit up the first day of India Resort Fashion Week with a gleaming display of pieces from her line 'Colours of Life'.
Seen here are a few of the more striking creations on models; in the centre is socialite Anushka Ranjan, who was the showstopper.
And finally, we come to Anupamaa Dayal's 'Apsara' collection, which mixed beachwear with ethnics to create vivacious, colourful resortwear.
Her draped dresses, dhoti pants, sari trousers, swirling skirts and edgy dresses "drew their inspiration from the beautifully sensuous Menaka who distracted the sage Vishwamitra from his Tapasya according to mythology".
Seen here is a green satin sari draped dhoti-style with an electric blue bikini top.
A pale green shift with a mix of prints and fabrics makes a statement on the runway.
Ethnic yet edgy, we loved with aqua combination of tiny choli and dhoti pants.
Sparkling with sequinned embroidery, a blue tunic takes the attention off the gold bikini underneath.
An unusual pinafore-style maxi is teamed with a lime green tank top for effect.
Pleated palazzo pants and a crop top capture the hippie-chic vibe.
Another of Anupamaa's muses in a sari-style skirt, bikini and dupatta poses theatrically for the flashbulbs.
