Here's a look at the Chivas Studio fashion shows held in Mumbai over the weekend -- and the first style trends for this year!
Luxury brand Chivas Regal held their second annual Chivas Studio, a three-day event in Mumbai over the 14, 15 and 16th of January, showcasing the latest in art, photography, sculpture, jewellery, music and fashion.
Prominent designers Manish Malhotra, Nandita Mahtani and brand Etro held showings, with the who's who of the social circuit in attendance. Check it out.
Day One kicked off with the Etro showing -- chic Western wear modelled by some of India's biggest catwalk queens like Carol Gracias, seen here in a form-fitting, silk trim dress and platforms.
If you've got the confidence to carry it off, this pale yellow jumpsuit is for you -- if you don't, you'll only end up looking like a clown!
For the guys, oranges and lemons are in -- check out this floral leisure jacket, worn over a tee, jeans and sneakers.
The volume is out of control on this puffy number, but Candice Pinto carries it off with class.
Actress Ira Dubey is the quintessential PYT in this layered handkerchief dress.
Socialite Ramona Narang's ensemble imitates Ira's, but minus the layers and paisley print.
Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali takes to the runway in relaxed pants and top, with a triangle motif giving them a funky edge.
Actress Madhoo is all smiles in a high-waisted floral jumpsuit with contrasting bodice.
Looking suave and rugged at the same time we have actor Randeep Hooda in jeans and a jacket, accessorising with a silk scarf.
And finally, we have Raveena Tandon, who styled a pretty abstract print with kimono sleeves and dazzling silver footwear -- very nice.
But don't go away yet -- we now move on to Day Two!
Manish Malhotra got good friend Karan Johar to open his showing with a very warm introduction -- we all know KJo's love for fashion!
First up we have this swirling white ensemble with rich maroon border and gold at the hem -- a real twirling beauty.
Kavita Kharayat sets off a beige lehenga with dotted detailing and rich work swirling on the border.
The designer introduces an element of funk with Pia Trivedi in silver harem pants and a one-sided slinky kurta top.
A smart, straight-cut jacket and raw silk pants make their presence felt on the ramp.
Deepti Gujral looks truly regal in a purple and blue ghagara choli, with brocade and embroidered embellishments.
We see Carol once again, in a rich ghagara showing off minute pleats and earthy hues.
Malhotra serves up a dash of mix and match --Freddy Daruwala sports a casual kurta that is set off with a rich floral shawl.
Candice's lehenga lets the colours and breathtaking fit do the talking -- pristine white and glowing red create a wonderful wedding look.
Malhotra steps out to acknowledge the applause with a wide grin as his models look on.
And we now come to Day Three, which saw the chic stylings of Nandita Mahtani take to the catwalk.
Opening the show we have Candice, in a daring backless mini and sexy gladiator heels.
Binal Trivedi glides out next in a playful, wispy white number.
Beige is livened up with slivers of silver on this tiny dress.
Another hiked-up hemline is seen, this time with a lovely cutwork pattern and a single panel of chiffon to break the uniformity.
Is it a gown? Is it a jumpsuit? Mahtani manages to fuse both in this undulating outfit, set off by a silver band at the waist.
A tiny yellow tube dress is set off by tassels that swish around becomingly.
Sheer numbers always manage to grab eyeballs, like this blouse, worn over a matching bikini and grey skirt.
We loved Deepti's cocktail, with its silver lining and relaxed fit -- very chic!
Ladies in red are always super-hot, as this seductive, plunging number goes to show!
Nandita, looking rather lovely herself, walks out alongside one of her creations.
