Are you gathering up the nerve to propose or get hitched this coming Valentine's? You're not alone -- here are some famous faces who decided to take the plunge on the same day!
It's hailed as the most romantic day of the year, so it's not surprising that every February 14 sees a mad rush for the altar all over the world.
And it's not just common folks like us who are scraping together enough for a sizeable engagement ring, or booking out venues for wedding receptions -- a lot of celebrities jump onto the Valentine's Day wagon each year too!
In the following pages, we take a look at some of famous personalities who've either proposed to or married their partners on Valentine's Day. Take a look!
Suzanne and Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik got Suzanne to start dating him by popping a ring into her cup of coffee. But how did he pop the question?
Well, it was on February 14, of course -- a year after they'd been together, they met at Juhu Beach in Mumbai and Bollywood's posterboy got down on one knee in the sand, asking Suzanne to be his wife.
Of course she accepted and today they're one of India's power-couples.
As if V-Day isn't romantic enough in itself, the Latina bombshell and her billionaire beau decided to take the big step in the lovers' capital of the world -- Paris!
It was a low-key civil ceremony, with only close friends and family in attendance. But true to style, the couple also had a blowout shindig in Venice two months later, where A-list guests rubbed shoulders and the bride was dripping in haute couture and diamonds!
Ironically, Salma and Pinault's daughter is even named Valentina -- guess they really are die-hard fans of the day!
Want to hear something even more ironic? Besides their shared wedding anniversary with Salma and Pinault, Adriana and Marko's little girl is also named Valentina!
The Victoria's Secret supermodel eloped with her basketball player boyfriend Marko Jaric on February 14, 2009 -- they had a small civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and planned a larger shindig later on.
Talk about two (or maybe four!) peas in a pod!
Ever heard of TWO weddings on Valentine's Day? By the same couple, that is!
Well, that's exactly what Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal opted for -- two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Sikh, on February 14, 1999.
They've been together 13 years now and were blessed with a baby boy last year, so it looks like their little family is now complete. Fortunately, the tyke's name is Vir and not something that rhymes with 'Valentine'!
Of course, not everyone who ties the knot on the fourteenth day of Feb lives happily ever after.
Case in point: blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson and her former rocker hubby Tommy Lee.
The two got married on Valentine's Day in 1995, after a whirlwind romance of only three days. The venue was a beach in Cancun, Mexico and the bride wore a bikini.
Unfortunately, three years and two sons later, the union went belly-up. But the reason their marriage is still talked about is because it created a stir in the media (seriously, who gets married within 72 hours?) and because a sex tape which the two shot on their honeymoon was stolen and released.
Surprisingly, the two former spouses are still on friendly terms and have even admitted to hooking up occasionally after their divorce.
Valentine romance couldn't save their marriage either.
Hollywood siren Sharon Stone and high-power newspaper editor Phil Bronstein wed in 1998, with a lavish ceremony and reception at the bride's home palatial home. The couple adopted a son together and for awhile, it looked like things were going to last.
And they did -- till 2004, following which they filed for divorce. Bronstein has since remarried and Sharon seems to have embraced the single life.
Moving on to happier marriages, we have our serial kisser Emraan and wife Parveen.
Despite his on-screen Casanova image, the actor is a devoted husband and father. He dated Parveen for quite a few years before proposing on February 14, 2006 and they married in December that same year.
Emraan has gone on record to say that the most romantic moment he ever experienced was proposing to his wife on Valentine's Day and hearing her accept.
Awww!
Don't let the age difference (22 years, but who's counting?) between these two lovebirds fool you!
In March 2009, after seven years together, the senior actor proposed to Calista on a family getaway with her adopted son Liam.
They married in 2010 in Mexico -- this is Ford's third marriage and Calista's first -- and seem to be going strong ever since.
The diminutive musical genius and his backup dancer also shared an age difference of 15 years -- when they married live on the Internet on February 14, 1996, Mayte was 22 and Prince 37.
Doves were released after the ceremony and the couple had a dream honeymoon in Hawaii.
Tragedy struck, however, when Mayte got pregnant shortly after the wedding and went on to deliver a son born with a rare health condition -- he died within a week.
Probably from the strain of those terrible circumstances, compounded by life in the spotlight, Prince announced their divorce in 1998.
Like Mandira and Raj, the Warsis had two weddings on Valentine's Day too!
Maria and Arshad crowned a courtship that lasted eight years with two ceremonies -- one in church and the other a nikaah -- on February 14, 1999.
Today, over a decade on, they have two lovely children and are still one of the most charming, controversy-free couples in tinseltown. Way to go!
The very epitome of old Hollywood glamour, the late actress led a colourful life, marrying and divorcing a record five times.
Her union to movie producer James Hill took place on February 14, 1958. But Valentine romance and Hayworth proved to be a bad match -- they called time on the marriage within three years, with allegations that Hill was abusive toward her.
After this experience, she would never remarry -- Hill was her fifth and final husband.
There are Valentine weddings that have seen bad luck closer home too.
One such relationship was that of Rhea Pillai and Sanjay Dutt, who got hitched in 1998. The actor was in trouble with the law and girlfriend Rhea is said to have stood like a rock behind him through the trying time. He proposed to her and a hush-hush V-Day ceremony in a Mumbai temple saw them pronounced husband and wife.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out and the two went their separate ways in 2005. Today they are both happily re-married, Sanjay to Manyata and Rhea to tennis ace Leander Paes.
And finally, we come to a couple who are rumoured to be making things official in 2012!
The pop princess and her ex-manager-current-boyfriend are believed to have scheduled a Hawaii beach wedding in a fortnights' time.
While the news can't be confirmed, given that no official statement has been released, let's hope that the twosome are climbing aboard the Valentine wagon this year and wish them all the best!
