We bring you the best of runway from Day Two of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013, with designs by Rina Dhaka, Jyotsana Tiwari and Meera Muzaffar Ali.
Day Two of the country's biggest bridal fashion event in the capital saw several celebrities on the ramp, at showings by big names in the fashion business (click here for JJ Valaya's grand opening show and here for Shantanu-Nikhil's collection on Day One).
In the following pages we bring you glimpses from the latest bridal lines by couturiers Rina Dhaka, Jyotsana Tiwari and Meera Muzaffar Ali, seen on Day Two of Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013.
We start off with Dhaka's 'Free Spirited Bride', garments which, in the designer's own words, were "a play of textures, embroidery, opulence and style with panache, ruled by patchwork, gota work and traditional kamdani."
Seen here is Sophie Choudry, who opened Dhaka's show in a beautiful mirrorwork bustier with an attached panel extending till her navel, teamed up with applique patchwork sharara.
The Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 is set to last from July 23 to 28 in Delhi, followed by a schedule in Mumbai this coming October.
Brilliant hues and sparkle dominated the runway as flared pants, voluminous skirts, high-collared tops, shararas, anarkalis and patchwork churidaars sailed out one after another.
Sophie wasn't the only famous face at the show -- Prateik and B-Town newcomer Amyra, co-stars of the soon-to-be-released movie Issaq stepped out together as showstoppers too.
Prateik, in a velvet sherwani with heavy embroidery at the shoulders, played up the cameras by kissing Amyra's hand as she stood blushing in a gold and nude polka-dotted sharara.
All three stars accompanied Dhaka as she stepped out to acknowledge the applause.
Jyotsana Tiwari's latest collection, called 'Elohim', was inspired by the colours, fun and festivities that surround weddings and consisted of fusion cocktail and occasion wear rather than full-fledged bridals; the palette itself called upon the nine coloured stones of Navratan jewellery.
Seen here is model Sucheta Sharma in a beautiful deep blue cut-away number, embellished with gold threadwork.
Candice Pinto struts her stuff in a becoming peplum top with shimmering ivory embroidery, teamed with tapering pants.
Nethra Raghuraman strikes a pose in an eye-catching crimson fishtail, sporting heavily embroidered side panels.
A more traditional silhouette comes into focus with this twirling tangerine and pale gold ghagra, teamed once more with a peplum blouse.
All eyes are on Jacqueline Fernandez as she makes her way out in a fuschia gown slit up to the waist to reveal a trendy pair of pants underneath.
The designer and Jacqueline pose hand-in-hand as Tiwari's chic showing draws to a close.
Duo Meera Muzaffar Ali's new line Kotwara consisted of exquisite bridalwear featuring oriental patterns that were textured with pearls, such as this stunning lehenga seen on Candice Pinto.
Anjali Lavania shows off a traditional-looking kurta and dupatta in the palest possible orange.
Ruffles, pleats and polka dots in shimmering nude and white make for a more opulent vision on the ramp.
Classically demure, this white sari with its delicate silver dots and floral border makes quite a statement.
The designers' many bridal muses make for a striking picture.
The twosome make their way out as the curtain comes down on their Bridal Week display.
