Forbes magazine has released its annual list. And there's no surprise for guessing who topped the list.
Gisele Bundchen led the list of highest paid models in the world eighth time in a row.
The Brazilian supermodel made $47 million before taxes and fees in the course of last year.
That is $5 million more than her 2012 earning.
And about $9 million MORE than the gross domestic product of the Polynesian island nation of Tuvalu of the same year!
True story!
She has pocketed contracts for luxury brands such as H&M and Chanel and represents Pantene hair products and Oral B in Brazil.
Then of course there is her eponymous lingerie line Gisele Bundchen Intimates, not to mention the commission she makes from the jelly sandals she designs for Brazilian shoemaker Grendene.

The Dutch supermodel makes a comeback to the list after dropping off the top ten last year and how!
Doutzen Kroes was number five in the 2012 list but couldn't make it to the top ten last year.
This year she's zoomed up to number two after her work with H&M, Emilio Pucci and Miu Miu and her new deal with Calvin Klein.
Over and above this, she continues to be in contract with L'Oreal and longstanding Victoria's Secret.
And oh did we mention that she became a mum to a second child in July this year?

Sharing the number two slot with Kroes is Adriana Lima who made $8 million before fees and taxes this year.
Lima who happens to be the longest-running Victoria's Secret Angel -- she started out with them in 2000 -- is 33 years old and has signed a new contract as the brand ambassador of the Spanish clothing brand Desigual.
What's more? She is also now the face of Maybelline again, 11 years after she first signed with the brand and has signed a deal with Veet hair removal cream as well as Amazonia mineral water.

Moss shared her spot with another Kate.
The 22-year-old American glamour model is a new entrant into the Forbes list.
Kate Upton has landed several lucrative contracts including those with Bobbi Brown and Express clothing line among others.
Upton also represents David Yurman (yep the same one as Moss), Sam Edelman and Accessorize.
It also helped that she made her Hollywood debut with The Other Woman that has clocked $194 million (and counting).
What makes Kate Upton's entry into the list interesting is that unlike every single person in it, Upton has a curvaceous figure and had for the longest time been a somewhat unlikely choice for modelling assignments.

She resigned as a model for Victoria's Secret.
She's broken up with her actor husband Orlando Bloom.
And she's the third richest model in the world alongside the two Kates.
The modern-day Helen of Troy -- Miranda Kerr is rumoured to have been the reason behind the between Bloom and Bieber (and it comes as no small irony that Bloom played Paris in Troy) -- has however dropped a spot after she made $0.2 million dollars lesser than the previous year.
That being said, 7 million is no small figure and much of it comes from her contract with Wonderbra.
This is over and above the money she's been making from Swarovski and Reebok and Mango and Shopstyle and H&M (whew).
It also helps that she *owns* a cosmetic line.
And how can we forget that teacup she endorses for the English porcelain brand Royal Albert?

Number three is a crowded spot and Liu Wen is another addition to it.

Wen has had a busy year.
Besides her (very lucrative) contract with Estee Lauder, she has also appeared in campaigns for Esprit, H&M and Calvin Kelin.
This year, she signed on as the new… erm… body of the Italian lingerie giant La Perla and has signed up with the American luxury brand Coach for its new campaign.
Besides these, Liu Wen also makes sufficient amount through various deals in China.
Oh did we mention, she's just 26?
