As India was introduced to the stunning Hina Rabbani Khar we bring you some of the hottest women politicians -- some from this side of the border and others from across the world.

Pakistan put its best face forward when it sent Hina Rabbani Khar the pretty young foreign minister to India. Never before had so many Indian men taken as keen interest in India's foreign policy issues till Khar surfaced on the radar.

But Khar isn't alone. Here are some of the hottest female politicians that have made politics more interesting than ever.

Priyanka Gandhi

Agreed Priyanka Gandhi isn't an MP or an MLA but can you ever be away from politics for long when you belong to the Nehru-Gandhi clan?

Although she's claimed she'd never get into politics, Priyanka is known to be a backdoor planner, a quiet organiser who is rarely in the forefront.

Never shy to wear a figure-hugging tee, Gandhi is equally open to draping a traditional sari when times demand and carries it off just as elegantly.

Agatha Sangma

Let's admit it, the rest of India can never get over North East Indians. Daughter of former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma, Agatha Sangma is as smart as she is good looking.

With a degree in law from the University of Pune and a Masters in Environmental Management from Nottingham University, UK, the 30-year-old is perhaps one of the more qualified members of parliament.

When she isn't a minister for rural development, Agatha loves to take pictures and carries her legacy with ease.

Priya Dutt

Talking of legacies, Priya Dutt perhaps had the largest shoes to fill after father Sunil Dutt's passing away. Suave, accessible and conscious of the role she must play out, Priya Dutt has carried on her father's fight for the rights of sex workers.

On the home front too, Dutt seems to have become the pillar of strength her father used to be when he was alive, countering the antics of her wild child brother, Sanjay Dutt.

Nikki Haley

Winner of the India Abroad Person of the Year, Nikki Haley is perhaps the most recognisable American-Indian face in the United States.

39-year-old Haley fought a keenly watched election, which she won decisively despite rumours of a steamy love affair with a conservative blogger.

Haley is now the 116th Governor of South Carolina.

Ruby Dhalla

The Canadian politician of Indian descent, Ruby Dhalla is probably be better remembered for all the brouhaha about a Hindi movie she acted.

Much before she got herself a respectable profession, Dhalla is said to have starred in Kyon Kis Liye a film that supposedly had some steamy scenes of the politician when she harboured showbiz dreams.

Dhalla did however make it to the Maxim list of the hottest politicians!

Joanna Mucha

This 34-year-old Joanna Mucha represents the city of Lubin in the lower house of the Polish since 2007.

A graduate from the University of Warsaw, Mucha holds a PhD in Economics.

And when she isn't in the parliament, she lectures at the Catholic University of Lubin.

Now that's a university we'd like to go to!

Anna-Maria Galojan

Chances are you may have never heard of the Republic of Estonia from where this stunning beauty comes.

Anna-Maria Galojan is often counted as one of the hottest politicians in the world and justifiably so.

The half Caucasian beauty heads the Estonian European movement and was accused of embezzling funds to spend on beauty products.

So what did she do? You guessed it. She posed nude for Playboy in protest!

Here's hoping none of our Indian politicians are reading this.

Alina Kabaeva

Once a celebrated gymnast who won two Olympic medals, 18 world championship medals and 25 European championship medals for her country, Alina Kabaeva is now a member of the Russian parliament.

Like most women in politics, Kabaeva also had her share of controversies when it was reported that she was engaged to be married to the then Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin was abroad and was unavailable for comment but Kabaeva denied the affair in a press conference with hold your breath Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi!

Interestingly, the paper that broke the story of the affair shut down soon after!

Michela Vittoria-Brambillam

Talking of Berlusconi, how could we miss out on Italian politician Michela Vittoria-Brambilla.

The 49-year-old is believed to be a possible successor to the premier who has been under fire for reportedly consorting with minors.

Michela Vittoria-Brambilla is the undersecretary of Tourism in Berlusconi IV Cabinet and is known for her occasional choice of somewhat ahem unconventional attire.

Yingluck Shinawatra

Barely a couple of months into politics 44-year-old businesswoman, Yingluck Shinawatra managed to win the hearts of her people and ended up being the prime minister of Thailand.

The country has seen six prime ministers in six years of political turmoil and everyone (including Shinawatra we suppose) is hoping that the seventh time is a charm.

Shinawatra became the first woman prime minister in Thailand her Pheu Thai Party founded by her brother and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

The 44-year-old politician is elegant and stylish but most of all has instilled a sense of hope in her countrymen.
